The snow looks gorgeous. We've got about 3 inches now, but it's still coming down heavy and we're not supposed to get the worst of it until this afternoon/tonight. The wind is making drifts all over the place. I was pretty surprised that the roads were already crappy this morning when I drove the boys to school. I am not looking forward to that this afternoon.

They've got alerts on the TV stations "If you don't absolutely have to drive, stay home. If you do have to drive, stay out of open areas." Hmmmmm. Since SD is nothing BUT open areas, that kinda rules that out, no? Eejits.

I just wish it would have waited for Christmas. We'll probably end up having an ugly brown or black (plowed snow) Christmas instead. :(

Ewww........I hate that! It looks so nasty all brown and clumpy. I would LOVE to have a white Christmas. Last white Christmas in Jersey I can remember was around 2003. Not only was it pretty but we started to drive to my now X inlaws and had to turn around! They tried to lay the guilt trip on my Xhusband as usual but of course well that is why we are X's!!

we've got some snow this year- actually i think the first snowfall was actually in September. But the metro area hasn't been too bad yet. It's freakin cold today though. Well, not in comparison to the -20 you guys are talking about, but I think our high today was 8. UGH.

On a side note about driving in the snow..... it always amazes me that the people that live here, where it snows every winter, and they still can't drive in the snow. Actually people here can't drive for crap if any type of moisture hits the ground. Drives me absolutely bonkers.

Oursnow is already ugly brown lmao. They worked hard to clear those streets but it still shut down some businesses early and made for horrible driving conditions. I, for one, got stuck right outsidethe dealership when I took my car infor servicing and then got stuck 4 times right outside my house. Residential areas are always the worst.

I am actually two hours north of Indy. We get lake effect snow from Lake Michigan. And I also believe people who live up here should know how to drive in the snow, but NOOOO the first snowfall freaks people out. I figure if you can't drive in snow, then why are you driving? It's INDIANA people!!!! Weather can go from the 60s to snowing in a day!

Were supposed to get around a foot of snow tonight in southern wisconsin, i think this one is finally gonna stay and that means....snowboarding.

ahhhhh! I spoke to soon yesterday about the coldness here. The windchill at 6am today was -32. UGH.

-22 here and ALL my pipes are frozen. Am I happy or what??

We got a ton of snow last night and it's still snowing. Most schools and things are closed around here. It's not too cold out yet though.

Lila loves it though! She loves snow!

WOW!! you guys are so lucky to get snow! i've not seen snow in my entire life!

*envy* The snow pictures looked really nice!! I love them!

great pix! Lila is so cute. does she like the snow?? my dog get so excited when it snows and always ends up with snow on her face like Lila!!

Haha! Nooo you can't have her :D

She loves the snow! She was so excited when I took her out this morning, now she's all tired out from running circles in the snow.

I'll have to upload the photo of her trying to attack my sister's dog, who is from Hawaii, so needless to say she hates the snow, but Lila loves it

ETA: here you go. I think this picture is hilarious, Lila is so excited, and when she gets excited she tries to play attack my sister's dog. But Maka, being from Hawaii, hates anything cold or wet, so here she is slowly making her way out into the snow only to be attacked by Lila

Well, so far nothing is sticking up here, but it has been snowing all morning here. The wind is horrible as well. I do believe that it is supposed to start accumulating though later today. We got an inch last night, then it started raining at 11PMish. It warmed up and now today it is supposed to get really cold and nasty... Oh boy!

You got as much snow as we did Alli!

Koby loves the snow too. A little too much actually... He was having so much fun jumping in the big pileS of snow in the front yard that even though his feet were frozen, he wouldn't come in. He just didn't get the concept that the snow was making his feet freezing and maybe it was time to come back inside. It's his first real dumping of snow, but eventually he'll learn snow=cold!!! (I hope... ha!)

I'm soooooooooooo glad you people got this crap and so far, *knocks on wood* we haven't gotten ANY of this mess. Yes, it's been colder than usual here, but compared to what you guys are dealing with, the 32 F at midnight is okay by me! Today, we did have some really gusty winds like Stack had, around 50-55 mph gusts, sustained around 25 mph. And yep, tomorrow it's gonna get colder (gee thanks Peg for sending that crap South instead of North hehe). Forecast high of 30, low of 17 for tomorrow...BRRRRR! :breath:

Sunday will dip down to a lovely chill to your bones -31F. How's that for deep freeze? Haaha, it'll be about -40F with windchill. (Right now with windchill its -33F)
