It's AFTER ME!!

A few days ago there were snow flurries between Houma and Lafayette.
Seriously?

I'm just starting to warm up from my first snow experience and the stuff is trying to follow me home.

Down-the-bayou girls were not meant for anything below 45*.

Good, I hope you took it with you! It's been getting down below 0 here!

Doug saw 2 snowflakes yesterday. The rest of us didn't see any. How on earth did Daytona get any?!?! Not fair.

What happened to global warming!? I don't want to get into a huge long debate about this. I know the icecaps are melting etc. I'm just being a smart butt, and I'm just throwin that comment out there! What happened to global warming! -70 with the windchill doesn't sound like global warming to me! We have snow. About 3 feet of it, more in places depending on how it drifted. I would be happy if we didn't get anymore for the next 6 months, but that's unlikely. We're in a heat wave right now. It's 5 degrees outside, and it's supposed to be up to 15 today I think. As opposed to -25 with windchills......
Melissa...negatives do too count! Theres definitely a difference in cold between 0 degrees and -30 degrees! At 0, you're cold by the time you walk to your car, and maybe your wet hair is frozen, but at -30 by the time you walk to you car, your hair is froze, your hands are froze, and your boogers are froze to the inside of your nose! BUR!

I understand that they do count and Ive been in negative weather. I just dont understand HOW SOMEONE came up with it? I mean I know it can always get colder.. but why not start with the coldest temp known and have that at 0*. Really temperature is measureable I dont see why there has to be a negative... Maybe the cold is making me crazy.

Oh yea! And Ive been asking about Global Warming all week! I just didnt post it here because I didnt want a debate either.. Also I was in a class where this kid did an oral about global warming and he found some research stating that our current average earth temperature is 1* lower than the average during the last iceage.. I just thought it was interesting to hear!

So my Weather bug said that there is a "Winter Storm Advisory" Until Jan 11. What does that mean?! It shows no precipitation for the area so what "storm" would they be talking about?
