Some show rules have been brought to my attention that may make this a non-sanctioned show. I'm working on getting this fixed and sorted out so keep your fingers crossed as it is very important that California have a sanctioned show this time around!

I think it has to do with points awarded to breeders at sanctioned shows since sanctioned shows are supposed to be connected to the national branch. There are more rules to follow at a sanctioned show as well and the judging is more strict. It also matters for trainee judges as they can't get points towards being a sanctioned judge unless they judge at a sanctioned show.

We have plenty of animals being shown this year. I believe you need at least 50 standards to be shown to be a sanctioned show which we will have. I was informed a few days after I sent out the advertisement and posted here that we are also supposed to advertise 30 days in advance in the magazine to be a sanctioned show. I've contacted the president of the national board as well as the general manager and I'll contact the rest of the national board if I need to. I'm doing my best to get this worked out into being a sanctioned show since California did not have a sanctioned show this year either and it would be nice to have one. Not to mention...I really want to help Donna get her points towards becoming a sanctioned judge.

I just got word...we're going to have a sanctioned show! So anyone who was worried about it not being a sanctioned show...no more worries!

i cant wait to finally get to go to a show!! when im ready i will be sure to track you down tara!!! lol maybe my little white ebony willl be my lucky man one day.. he is getting pretty and my standard female i got is just so pudgy and cute!!!!

One more important thing about the show! Friday night is a relaxed night when everyone gets in and usually we have a hospitality room and at the state show we've always had a potluck, so bring your favorite dish or snack so we can hang out and chat!

For Friday night is there a kitchen in the room we can prepare our stuff? Like heat things up or cut up stuff.

nope...we won't have a microwave either. All we booked was the banquet hall across from the show hall so that we have a larger area to have our food.

The show is almost here! I need a last set of PM's/emails from everyone that is going to bring something to the potluck so that we can figure out what extra needs to be brought and what can just be left alone! You can send me a message on here or email me at [email protected], the potluck will be at 7pm on Friday night!

We're almost there! Hope everyone is ready and getting chins ready! Just an update this is the food that I know will be available at the potluck so far!

I will see everyone bright and early on Saturday morning! I will be driving back and forth both days.

I will also be bringing along some chins that are looking for homes and won't be entered in the show, just in case there is anyone there just looking for a nice pet chinnie to love!

Also, will anyone there be bringing dust? I still have a couple 50 lb. bags left but I feel like I need to stock up again.

I am not sure if anyone is bringing dust...if you want to make sure someone has it at the show you can email Pam <[email protected]> or I'm sure Gary could bring some. They said they won't have everything with them, so if you need something specific just let them know before Friday! ;)

See you bright and early on Saturday!

Sumiko, I might be able to bring you some dust. I need to get to the store to see if they have some. I'm not home right now but I'll let you know tomorrow evening if you can find any.

The show has been a lot of fun so far! I only had brought one 6 month beige male for the mutation show and he took a 1st place! I also came home with a GORGEOUS **** beige female bred by Gary Neubauer. I believe there were 160 mutations shown yesterday. There were also a couple very unique animals - "viophires" (violet/sapphire crosses). I took some pictures of them but I am not sure if it captured the color very well. Nothing has been edited - my camera tends to adjust the color of the picture depending on what angle I am shooting from in front of the lights... that's why some pictures appear more blue and some with warmer tones. I'm not sure how to set it so it stops doing that. Anyway...

Here is one of the "viophires":

And that's all for now!

It's now after 3:30 am here and I'm getting things together to drive down with the chins for the standard show. I'm probably going to bring some older chins and a few that I was planning to sell as pets as well so that we have more numbers in the show.

On the road again... :dance3:
