We are sad chin parents in Ohio looking for a loving home for our baby boy!
Dash just turned 1 at the beginning of January. He is a gray (touch of violet), with a little brownish-beige fur on his chest. He is a gorgeous boy and has very soft fur.
This boy is full of energy. Although he is skittish around strangers at first, he is quite social during his waking hours and loves attention. He is also pretty darn smart, and we’ve trained him on a couple of tricks. He loves running around in his pen and parkouring off of objects. We just allowed him to try a chin wheel, which he mastered right away. At the end of his playtime he has learned to sit in my lap and enjoy a treat.
Why do we need to rehome such an adorable little nugget? The story is this: we had a pair of chins and lost one after 14 years. We adopted two young half-brothers (including Dash) last year, and both of them bonded to our now solo geriatric chin. However, when Dash hit puberty, he started to get jealous of his half-brother and did not want him near our geriatric chin. One night, Dash got aggressive with his brother (we had a camera on the cage—Dash appeared to be guarding the geriatric chin all night long). We separated them the next day. Unfortunately, being separated on different levels of the same cage is stressing all three of our chins, and it’s especially taking a toll on our geriatric chin.
Because we love our boy and want to make sure he goes to a good home, we will be screening potential adopters (suitable cage, etc.) We may be able to assist with transportation if that means getting Dash to a loving home!
