First thing I do with a hanging toy with bells is.....take off the bell. I already have to sleep with ear plugs on, if I kept the bell on I'd have to completely give up my room!

I was worrying about this too. Luckily my chinchillas run right out to me when I open the door :thumbsup:

Thanks everyone. Town-home it is. I was definitely planning on the metal door guards over the plastic. This probably wont happen till around Christmas but I can't wait to get it. Does anybody have any pictures they'd like to post?

So who here has experience with the quality cage company? What cage do you think would be the best/ easiest on the wallet for one female chinchilla? I was thinking about either the chinchilla mansion or town home.

I can't bring myself to kill most insects that enter my household. Except mosquitos, I'll slaughter any mosquito I see. But if I saw a spider or other insect near my Chin cage I may have to make an exception.

During the day if my chin is up she loves to be carried around. I'll put her on my lap, and if I'm wearing a pullover she'll sometimes crawl into the kangaroo pocket. I check often to make sure she's not overheated and the room is nice and cool. She also went into my girlfriends purse once and...

Good, because my chinchilla absolutely loves this thing.

Mine is in the bedroom. It's quite in there most of the day and is the easiest room to keep cool. Unfortunately this requires me to sleep with ear plugs in lol. But it's always nice to share a room with a chin.

I usually give my chinchilla 3-4 cheerios a week. She loves them.

I always use carefresh natural bedding under the wire cage. It's not dusty or messy and it is great at keeping the odor out.

Thanks. I didn't really think it would be safe but the pet shop I work at gave it to me for free so I thought it'd be worth a try. And Brittany I will definitely look into buying a fleece liner from your store.
