I've only skimmed through this thread and I'm not going to comment on the chins or vets but I did want to make a point that this heat wave we've been having in BC really has caught a lot of us by surprise. The temperatures in Vancouver and on the Island are generally very moderate year round so virtually no one owns an a/c. Even the hotel that I work at does not have a/c.
I'm very fortunate that in the house here in Campbell River, the chin room is downstairs where it's cooler and does face north so heat hasn't been an issue until now. Even though my chin room is still cooler than any room in the house, it has gotten warmer and I've got a fan going in there just to cool off the surrounding air. All four chins are fine down there but they would definitely be too hot anywhere upstairs without an a/c.
Since this unexpected heat wave has struck here, I will probably be seriously thinking about picking up an a/c unit. Like I said, my chin room is okay but still a little too warm for my liking. The weather here seems to be changing and we all need to adapt to that I guess.
