I just received my 12 - chin spins the question I have is that they are not completely round about 3" before the metal come together. To the people that have them are they round or do they have a slight dent in them.

Yep, I waited to post until I could check on mine, I have 2 and they are both completely round, no dents, not even a slight one.

Only 1 of them would have been damaged in transit because the UPS man even noticed the box. I took out that particular one in that box and showed him. I then took out another one from another box and showed both to him. At 1st he thought the 1st one was damaged until I took out the 2nd one. I think that the person made them too fast to ship them all at once.

I called Quality Cage and she said to push the side that is dented that might work if not to call them back. I can't believe I would have to do this to all 12 of them.

QOQ! I can't believe that, sounds like a manufacturing mistake. No way would I try fixing them. You are inviting minute cracks in the powder coating that will show up months later when it falls off. Can you post a pic?

I agree completely. All of mine are completely round. I wouldn't do anything to them. This is their mistake and you shouldn't have to do anything about it other than call them and have them replaced. I would take pictures of every single one and email then to QC to they can see exactly what the issue is.

I agree with addictedtochins, if the dent is really deep, popping it back out might damage the powder coating on the wheel. It'll cause you more grief in the future.

Maybe the weight of all 12 wheels in the same box misshaped the wheels?

I have someone coming by today bringing her wheel then I compared the both. I compared them with my Ed Spins and they're not like these.

Powder coating is flexible - unless it separates from the material, it's not going anywhere!
I'd take pictures of each, straightren them, and send the pictures to Quality. Mention if there's a problem with the powdercoating down the road, you'd expect a replacement!
Sounds like maybe they were dropped at the powdercoaters, for ALL to be bent!
I doubt Quality would have shipped them, had they known they were bent!
Maybe they have to review their packaging to prevent this, if it happened in transport!

Someone just left with their Chin spin and it looks almost the same as mine. I guess I'm just being picky. She said her chins run on it just fine. I can't post pictures because it won't show up

Well I just learned something. I decided I did want a chin-spin, but I didn't want one with a "dent" in it. So I called Quality cages and explained the problems I am hearing about. Linda went and talked to the 2 men who makes them, 1 does the metal work and 1 installs the wood back. They said that they have to be very careful that the chin cannot find a crack to get his teeth onto the wood or it will be ruined-as we know-
So sometimes that dent is created by trying to prevent that from happening. ie; when the wood backing is a little mis-shapen or oversized a tiny bit. They are going to look into preventing this happening any more.

I just got done talking to Quality Cages the owner will not take them back. I had another person looked at them 2 nights ago and she even said they are not round. She even suggested sending them all back. There are 2 Linda's there. The Linda I talked to will leave a message with the owner to give me a call back. I even told Linda I'm disappointed in Quality Cages and even told her it's not shipping damage. I believe it manufacturing. I myself will not buy anything else from them. I even wanted 8 more but after this I will stick to my Ed Spins.

I am very disturbed that they know they sometimes have these issues with their process yet won't take wheels back when someone doesn't want to pay what I consider to be a fairly high price for wheels with dents and that are not completely round. I can understand them "looking into" how to prevent this, but until they do, why do they require people who are dissatisfied with them to keep them? I thought Quality Cages had a good reputation.

I only have Ed spins myself, but I've seen the wheels in question. They're variations of egg shapes. For that price, I would not be happy were I to get those Chin Spins. I think I'll continue with the Ed spins and recommend those to others as well.

That's really awful about QC! I got a cage with a chin spin not too long after your post and was worried my wheel would be dented as well. It showed up and looked fine. They did, however forget to send me the glass water bottle I paid for. But they were nice enough to send me one. They seemed really nice and wanted to make sure I was happy so it sounds weird to me they can't do anything about the wheels! To have something wrong with ALL of them seems to me a manufacturing problem too and that IS their fault. I'd keep trying to get replacements because that's not right.

That's surprising. Myself and many others have always had great service to them..it's very disheartening that they won't take them back, especially since you spent so much money.

I talked to one of the owners this afternoon. I told her that 7 boxes are still unopened out of the 12. She told me to open them up and call her Monday to let her know how many I disliked. She will let me send them back on her UPS account. I told her to look at them when she gets them back. I'll get to decide if I want a credit or sent new ones. If I decide to get new ones she will look at them before they leave the shop.
