    Cage Pictures

Single girl in the left cage, two boys on the top of the double cage, and two girls (mother and half sister of the single girl, but they don't get along) I hope to get a duplicate of the big cage soon... not a big fan of those Super Pet cages. The two groups in that cage both eat fleece like it...

2010 Southern Unit of the Ohio Branch ECBC Show - Statesville, NC

This is correct, when 40 splits the routes to Asheville are closed off. If you go from Knox to Johnson City, TN (81 to 26 to 40) the trip is only about 15 minutes longer. And the biggest word of warning: be careful of NC drivers! ;)

What is a good time for people there to watch/purchase to show up?

My husband and I and two friends all have the day off to go, the only issue at this point would be bad weather. Hopefully it is sunny!

Oh this is so close to me but two weeks after my move date! I'll need dust by then.

    Shelf guards for FN

If you make wooden shelves, you can put a "border" around them with smaller pieces of wood. I did this on mine, but it doesn't truly keep the mess in, as they fling it off the shelf when they bounce around. Tipping them downward helped.

    Got Chub?!?

She doesn't seem ashamed at all... lucky girl ;)

    Stacked or flat carriers?

Great, thank you both. I had figured I could use the seat belt but I for some reason forgot they had a handle to use with it. My girls are jerks and will have a plastic cat carrier chewed through within the two hour drive, wouldn't be the first time.

    Stacked or flat carriers?

I'm needing to purchase a 6-hole carrier before my move in late December, and I was wondering if the flat Ryerson-style carriers or the stacked carriers are better. The stacked seems best for traveling, since my dog and hamster also have to be in the car to save room. I am worried about it...

    Let's see your dogs!

Boy, does that look familiar! I've got about 30 pictures of my dog laying like this, it makes me laugh every time!

make your own chin spin or flying saucer

The feed pan is from Tractor Supply, it is 16" and 3" deep if I remember correctly. Here are the instructions: http://www.spoiledchins.net/wheelinstructions.htm Be aware, it is not a quiet wheel!

    Question on "rare mutations"

All my Kessler animals were oldies, 12, 15, 18, etc. and were nice (never anything super quality). I still have one who is 11 and was my youngest. (Had a 7 y/o female but she wouldn't breed) I actually never saw a young animal come from her. I know she did suffer several injuries that made...

Our American women are free from South Korea!

I saw them on this news this evening hugging their families. Very emotional.

Our American women are free from South Korea!

I'm glad they are safe now. I'm not sure why Clinton is brought into this quite like that, but whoever has such an issue with lying to the public better not have voted for Bush! ;)

    Question on "rare mutations"

This is an interesting thread, I've seen quite a few odd color names - but then again I had quite a few animals from Kessler. Ever look at one of those peds? Eek!

    What do chins smell like?

Don't sniff them after a dust bath or you'll look like you've been snorting them! :neener: I love that they don't have an "animal" smell - on them or in the cage.

make your own chin spin or flying saucer

You can most definitely make your own wheel (though they won't likely be quiet), but the exact design of the Chin Spin or FS would be pretty hard, and more expensive than just buying one. Here is one of my old homemade ones:

    Hay holders

I use Carise's vertical hay boxes. They work well for me but are slowly getting chewed down!

Attacking Breeding in animals vs breeding in humans

Well said. I think before we'd even consider some kind of population control, we need better sex education. That is where it all starts. EnslavedByNinjas, I was pretty sure you weren't 100% set on that but you never know with people!

    Ohio

Memphis is scaaaarry (and hot!). It is the 2nd most dangerous city to live in! We've looked at Columbus but here to there didn't work out for interviews and current work. It is a nice area and full of ranchers and chin people, you should have no issue finding whatever you need.
