Yay for Maple the cow! Still pulling for that little one. Hope she continues to do well

Following this thread with interest! You're doing a brilliant job Tabitha! Fingers crossed Maple-the-cow (who sounds wonderful!) fattens the little one up xx

I'm ridiculously happy this morning. :D Z33 (calling her Willow) weighed in at 33g this morning with absolutely no hand feeding for the past day. For the first time, she feels like a normal kit should and not like she's sickly. The clicking in her lungs is MUCH less now, but I will continue the antibiotic for a few days after the clicking completely stops. Maple has decided she loves the heating pad that I've had in that cage since Willow was born so she pushes the shavings to the back of the cage and sprawls on her back right next to the door. Willow is a little tiny standard thing attached to a nipple at all times. :hearts: I'll have to sneak some pictures when Maple isn't expecting it!

Good thing you have Maple! Poor kit, still looks kind of skinny (from the pictures) hopefully Maple will fatten her up a bit. Great job though keeping her alive and well so long, your both fighters! Do you think you'll keep her after all this, or rehome her?

More than likely I will be keeping her. We will see what happens though.

I wrongly called Maple a cow...:err: Ms. Ican'tstopeatingbecausethesupplydoesn'trunout will absolutely not stop nursing unless I pull her off of Maple for a weight. She's steadily gone from 33g this morning to 38g when I weighed her just now. Absolutely ridiculous!

And yes, in those pictures she still looks skinny because she is. She was pretty much bone when I started hand feeding her and was just starting to bulk up yesterday when I put her with Maple. Now...there's no stopping the eating machine!:dance3:

ETA: I'll post more pictures of her tomorrow so you can see the difference. She bulking up to being a normal kit in just a couple of days. Chinnie milk does wonders for chinnie babies. :D

Aww I want her, we could pig out together. I'm not sure her name should be Willow though....that name brings to mind something slim.Maybe Anonymous, as in Overeaters Anonymous
GO BABY! :cheer:

Yay! I'm so happy for you Tab! Willow sounds like quite the little fighter and I'm so happy she's getting healthier daily for you and that you will hold on to her. Definitely a happy ending to this story!

Here's "baby fat" as she's been nicknamed. She's back to her birth weight this morning which makes me ridiculously happy. She's racing around like a normal maniacal little kit as well.
