Yell is short for Danielle. Got tired of people calling me Daniel lol.
Not yet a chinchilla owner (yet!), but have been doing vast research the last few weeks. My goal is to be prepared to bring home a chin by the end of July.
Goal one is to buy the Ferret/Critter Nation. Although I only plan on having one chin, the double unit makes more sense. It almost makes me upset when I see videos of a miserable chin in a small home so I have to be extreme and do the opposite.
The next step is the fun part! The DIY fleece sewing and pine cutting! The list seems so long. Fleece projects include: couches, hammocks, houses, tunnels, cuddle buddies, cage bumpers, and of course pan liners. Pine projects include: hay box, hideaway, multiple ledges, bridge or two, and maybe a big ol' chew playhouse for playtime.
Surfing the net for chinchilla toys has given me so many ideas and so have all of you! I can't stop looking at the FN Club thread to see the many stellar layouts.
As of now I plan on getting a male baby chin from a breeder who has pedigrees for all their chins (Che Chinchillas). Ebony or white are gorgeous, but in the end I just want to raise a lil chin and maybe become a rescuer down the road.
Oh and I have already picked out a name - Monk, since he will be single forever aside from the occasional cuddle buddy action I've heard about. Also I plan on buying a gong to sit on top his cage so that I can ring it when the time comes to go in or out of the cage.
As a psychology major I would feel lazy if I did not train my chin to do spiffy tricks. Going in and out of the cage may not seem like much of a trick to some people, but to me it is animal conditioning and science!!!
Does your chin do any tricks? Kisses are cute and I see people online showing off all the time. I can't wait to be that person!
Can't wait to get to know all of you!
Much love
