Brenda, we need to start plotting our trek to Colorado!! February sounds challenging, with SNOW & Nationals so close, but by April I always am ready for a distraction (school kids are crazy by April!!). :thumbsup:

What time do the festivities start on Friday and what time should I plan on everything being over on Sunday??? I have found a flight that leaves Denver about 3 and arrives around 6 on Friday, and one that leaves at 6 on Sunday and gets me home by 8 for a pretty good fare.

We're in the hall from about 5 - 9 or 10 on Friday night and are all packed up and out of there by 5-ish on Saturday. What is planned at places other than the hall, I'm not sure about yet. lol
Mount Horeb, where the gnome motel is at, has their fall festival that weekend, so if you're around on Sunday, there wil be some things to do.

Does anyone stay over Satuday night and go home on Sunday instead???

I'm afraid that that's a lot of travel/money for a 1-day event. If people are going to stay overnight and do stuff in the area, and if someone could take me to the airport on Sunday afternoon, then I would probably come. It sounds like a fun time and I would LOVE to meet some new friends.

When I stayed in the area, I stayed over Saturday night, some people do. But now I only live 2 hours away so I don't stay there.

But, I mean, you could make it a couple day event if people are willing to drive you around )

There are a few folks that stick around Saturday night. I haven't heard all of the details for this year yet. I live just a few miles away, so I'll be here. LOL But I do have to open my shop in Mount Horeb by 11 on Sunday. What time would your flight be on Sunday? I would maybe be able to get you to the airport, but am open at the shop until 5, unless I can get someone to watch it for me.

Lynn we will be staying over Saturday night. Don't worry! I'll be driving separately because Sandi has a wedding to attend Friday night, she won't be coming up until Saturday. Last year we stayed both Friday and Saturday night and plan on doing so again this year.

I'm definitely coming up early on Saturday morning and will meet you all at the hall. I will be staying over on Saturday night. The gnome hotel wasn't that bad at all.

How long of a drive is it for you??? Do you mind making a day of it??? I looked at the link that Brenda put in for the motel (by the way, I think those are Trolls, rather than gnomes, since it appears that the area is very Norwegian!!!) and saw that there is a lot to do in the area. Maybe just going to the festival and Brenda's store would be fun.

I think I'm going to ask for it off!!! The flights that I have found are all around the $245-$250 range -- I don't know if that's good or not; last year to the National Show in Oklahoma City, I got $178 round trip. The motel looks nice and seems reasonable -- I've paid that much for a REAL flea in another town!!! If that's where everyone stays, count me in!!!

we are all non smoking gals Lynn! last year we got 2 adjoining rooms and 5 of us shared. I'm sure we'll get 2 adjoining rooms again this year so there should be plenty of room.

I don't mind hanging around for a bit and dropping you at the airport on sunday. It's less than a 3 hour drive for me. Who is getting you Friday night?

I haven't asked anyone yet, since I don't know for sure if I'm coming, although it is looking good.

The flight that looked good arrives in Madison around 6 PM. Maybe you??? If you're on your way Friday night??? If not, I'll have to put the word out...the directions say that it is only 24 miles from Madison to Mt. Horeb. I'm fine with helping to pay for gas!!! :thumbsup:

Lynn you just let me know when you know. I will be coming up on Friday, not sure if I'm riding with Kristy or Carol yet, but I would hope we could be there to get you Friday night if you needed us too.

It's not far at all form Madison to Mt. Horeb. The show hall is another maybe 10 miles west of Madison.
I would offer to pick you up, Lynn, but am usually pretty swamped at the show hall. Friday and Saturday. But if something comes up that Laurie can't swing by to get you, just say the word and we'll figure something out!

THANKS, ladies!!! I'm really excited!!! I think I'm going to plan on it!!! WOO HOO!!!

My chiropractor was telling me how beautiful the area is, and especially in the fall. I told him that there was a Fall Festival the weekend I was going and he thought that sounded really good.

I'll ask my manager for the time off. My Colorado Annual Meeting is this Saturday, so I'd like to wait and make sure when our show will be to ask for time off for both events, and then the National Meeting in Ft. Collins in November. They already know I am chinchilla-crazed at work and can't believe that I actually pay money to travel to these events!!! Can you believe THEM??? LOL

I'll make my reservations after I get OK'ed for the time off...

Carol I figured you and I would ride up together since Sandi's not coming until Saturday. But I don't know how early you have to be back on Sunday, I can hang around and get Lynn to the airport if no one else can. We'll just have to figure all that stuff out lol! And don't worry Lynn, Carol and I for sure are not serial killers! LOL! that's a little joke Carol and I have with each other! You can hear all about it when we see you in October!

Laurie, I can get Sunday night off, too. It's early enough for me to request off as many days as I want. I'll take Thursday night through Sunday night off and go back to work on Monday night. I haven't had a nice weekend with 'the girls' for quite a while. All I seem to do is work and sleep. :wacko:
