To steviep, thank you! I hope I find the cause soon. I don't wanna leave him alone at all lately.
To starleomach, he is hving oxbow pellet, timothy hay, distilled gallon water from grocery store, 2to3 pieces of cheerios a day. He has a plastic wheel (I'm about to replace it even though there are no chewing sign yet.) What is salt wheels and hamster nut?his cage accessories are bowl of pellet, wheel, bowl of hay, chinchiller, ledge, hammock, hay house (made from timothy hay totally). His cage is still plastic. I couldn't afford new one yet and he s not heavy chewer. When I let him out in play time he has about 14*6 ft. In the living area chinproof. He doesn't watch tv and sleep with only little light from the stove.

Is this sounds ok? :s I'm not sure.

Checking his blood won't do much unless he is having the seisure right there. Their body chemistry can change rapidly so by the time you get him to the vet - and spend all that time waiting - he could be just fine. I would just keep an eye on him and don't let him play too long. It sounds like his is more stressed out by the trip to the vet than being at home in a comfortable hidey hole.

Keeping track of his intake and activities is a good idea so that you can figure out what triggers the episodes and try to avoid them in the future. Prescribing any medications without knowledge of chinchillas happens too often by unexperienced vets. Sounds like you are doing good research on the net and asking long-time breeders also helps gleen out info.

Good luck to you both.

There is a thread on here that lists known exotics vets with chinchilla experience as provided by other forum members. I would look for the vet on that list closest to you and contact his or her office for another opinion. Seizures probably can't be treated correctly by someone that has to consult their medical books about your pet while you wait at the office with the animal.
