My husband and I are hoping to go on vacation in the next month or two and I've been debating on what to do with the chins. I have 2 FNs so bringing their normal cage is not possible and my family/friends coming to my house is out of the question since we would be bringing the chins to them 2 states over. (we are visiting family before the vacation) I have 2 cages that I can (successfully) separate making 2 cages into 4 but the cage would only be about 17 inches wide, 30 inches long, and 12-14 inches high. Would this be okay for one chin in each of the 4 sections of the cage. I'm sorry I don't know how to word this.. But one chin would be in the measurement above. Would that be okay for about 3 weeks? For the first week and a half/2 weeks I would be there to let them out for out of the cage play time but for the last week or so I would not be there to let them out.. Do you think that will be too small for that long or will it be okay?

It would be OK, it is close to the size (actually a little larger) of many breeding runs and the chins seem to do fine...

Forgot to add that Quality Cages has some great collapsible cages. Your chins would travel in a carrier and then you could set the travel cage/s up when you get to your destination. I have a couple of these cages in case of an emergency or if I want to take them with me and they store right underneath the FN. Just a thought if you were unhappy with what you have :)).

do you know if the QC collapsible cages are good enough to be real homes instead of just travel cages?

they have the big ones that are 30"x30" and thats bigger than the current cage i'm using. if its good enough to be a real permanent home, i would like to get one of those.

Yes, they are very well made. They are just like the bigger cages as far as quality. Once you put in shelving they are even sturdier.

QC has great customer service. You can custom order your cage as well. I got deeper pans and different sizes for instance. I wish they were slide out like the regular cages but I also like that the whole thing fits compactly inside its pan for storage. My point: get what you want because they are open to changing design to suit you :)).

cool! thanks for the info.

actually, i see that QC has airline travel carriers too? they're pricey, are they better than JPChins or Ryersons?
