I brought my 2 Chins home last night, and have left them to acclimate in their cage overnight and so far today. I have gone in to check on them, change their foot and water, and I actually read to them for about 15 mins. Other than that they've been left to relax, nap, and get used to their cage.
I'd like to take them out tonight to run around the bathroom for awhile with me.
Am I rushing it, or does that seem reasonable?

I think you should wait a few days for them to get used to their surrroundings befor taking them out, but that's just me. :))

Depends on their previous circumstances! If their old owner let them out at a specific time, try to follow that routine, as they're used to it.
I think letting them 'settle in' for a couple days, might be a better idea, though, but, if they warm-up to you quickly, and seem happy - go for it!

Thanks! That seems to be the consensus... and they seem skittish... so I think I'll wait a day or two more.
Thanks!

I would wait. You want them to be comfortable with you and their surroundings before you let them out. This way they know that you're not going to hurt them. It will make catching them to go back in the cage a lot easier.

I'd wait a while. I'd give it a least a week or two, it may take evn longer. You should not only wait until they are well adjusted to their new surroundings, but also until they are well adjusted to you. I never take my chins out until they feel comfortable coming to me first. Once they have earned your trust, they're ready to come out and play. Take your time with them. If you rush them and force yourself or new situations on them, it'll take longer for them to come around and trust you.

Me or my husband had them out most every day (marshall loves his chinchilla boys) but they will still need a few days in their new environment. They say it take 2-3 weeks before a chinchilla is fully accustomed to a new place. But also since they are babies and have been together since weaning they should adjust a bit more quickly

They are the most sweet babies; I love them with their little heads under my chin. :)
I think they are just getting used to EVERYTHING being new. I know they'll be fine in a few days. I just can't wait to hold them again!!
