Man... you shouldn't have taken such clear pictures Allison! If you still haven't found him a home by the next time you volunteer at the shelter, bring him with you. I can ALWAYS make room for another beige chin. They are my weakness and I don't mind another single bachelor boy. Heck, I have 9 single boys, what's another one?

I volunteer again at the middle of July, so if you do really want him I can bring him along!

I checked on them this morning and they have pretty small poops, which is to be expected with the stress and crappy Kaytee food. Unfortunately I'm out of Mazuri, so I'm going to see if any of the local places have a small bag. Even a slightly old Mazuri will be better than the old Kaytee. It's some Forti-Diet crap but it still has treats in it

Both are doing well otherwise though, both came to the front of the cage to check me out.

Okay, I got them some Mazuri.. $9 for a 2.5lb bag, ouch! That's about half of what I pay for 25lbs normally! But I didn't want to keep them solely on the crap food for longer than I had to.

I know! I can't believe anyone would want to pay $9 for 2.5 lbs! I normally carry Mazuri but my feed store is out and I can't get it til next week sometime.

Hammie looks a little ticked off in that rosehip picture, but I can assure you he normally looks pretty sweet, if you don't mind some missing fur lol!

Oh, I'm sure Gus will get a great home! He seems like a great guy too, just a little more reserved at the moment.

But that all flew right out the window when I offered him the dust bath! It was like a whole new chin
I've found that the square priority box works great for a temp dust bath house. Note, I am not advocating getting the boxes for that purpose, but if you have a used one on hand it works great if you cut the top and the side off. I send out these boxes a lot with my orders, so I know a lot of chin owners have them! I just wanted something I could throw out when they're done living here.

And I did confirm that they both are indeed boys! Hammie I picked up to inspect, but Gus so kindly allowed me to see his parts when he stretched.

I think I will definately keep the name Hammie. I havent met him yet but I can tell he is a ham!

I put the playpen around each of their cages tonight for a little playtime, and they both did great. Obviously playtime wasn't together. Gus is such a sweet little guy. He has the prettiest pink eyes. They're so much lighter than my beige Mei's. I need to get a good picture of his coloring, he's very light compared to my beige, but not light enough that he would be homo beige. He's just so pretty!

Yeah, it's true! Gus's fur will be good in no time, of course for Hammie it'll take some time since he's missing quite a few chunks and some still have scabs on them
