That is a wonderful tattoo - make sure to take another pic when it's settled in so we can see!

That is quite exceptional, Megan. Exquisite workmanship and so lifelike.
No wonder you are pleased :D

Can you have some more photos when the inflammation has gone and your skin has settled please? I would like to see it in it's "full" glory. :)

I have always loved the idea of getting a tatoo but have never gone through with it. I think a tatoo of your beloved pet is a great idea and the artist did a truely amazing job!

I like it! Definitely more realistic than my "cartoony" chinine. Very nice!

eta: is that your calf? if so, which one?

mine is on my right calf, would be cool if it was the same :)

Thank you everyone! I love it. I am hoping it heals ok, especially with working tihs morning and having pants rubbing onit--hoping it won't do any lasting damage.

The few questions I remember seeing:

It's on my left leg, not exactly my calf, but to the left side of my left leg..lol

Did it hurt? Yes...but it was not horrible. It would not stop me from getting another one =)

I will deff. take more pictures after the healing process. I'm very excited to see it when its done.

The chinchilla wasn't named, but I felt the need to name her. My artist was "Jake" so I named her "Jade" In honor of him =).

What I love is it means something to me, its MY chinchilla-- and really no one will ever have the same one, or the personal meaning behind it.

That came out really nice, how long did it take to get it done?

Megan, that is GORGEOUS! I have three tats and really want to get a chinnie, but I've kind of run out of areas to put it that I can hide easily. I'm trying to get into law school, and I don't think the reaction would be good if I went into court in a skirt with a tat on my calf or a visible tattoo. But your's is GORGEOUS!

It looks great. If your worried about your pant leg rubbing on while its healing, wrap it in saran wrap while at work. My artist had me do this when i got my leg done.

wow looks awesome!!

ETA:

I was thinking of Getting Fuzzy on me somewhere too! That is nice work.
I never wrapped my tattoo's at work, they need to breathe.

I've been thinking about getting a chinnie...maybe I'll just steal yours lol

but seriously, that is beautiful work. Animal portraits are difficult in the ink world-so kudos on finding a good artist...
