SPAM - love it or loath it?

SPAM not the junk you get in your email but delicious canned SPAM--I, myself, am a SPAM fan! When we were kids growing up dad would make SPAM salad which was a pasta salad with SPAM, macaroni, frozen peas, onions, celery and mayo. I still make it today and will add some velveeta to it--my son also loves it. We also do the fried SPAM with eggs for breakfast, or I chop it in the food processor and do SPAM, sweet pickle relish, onion and mayo for a ham salad effect for sandwiches.

I like it grilled. I have grilled it and given it to people and it they were amazed when they found out it was spam.

Agreed. I remember loving it as a kid. It seem now it just tastes like a bucket of salt.

Honestly, I have NEVER in my life had it!!! It just sounds icky to me.

That said, I LOVE the product called Deviled Ham. Are they anything alike???

Looove it! Makes great Spam 'n cheese. Kids like it fried with eggs. The bacon flavored one makes great SLTs.

Good stuff - and one should never miss the opportunity to visit the Spam Museum and race to build your own Spam.

I don't "do" salt. I don't salt my food, except for maybe sweet corn on the cob and popcorn. And I do not think Spam is salty. I've eaten right out the can without cooking and I've had it cooked, and I just don't think it tastes salty! I've heard they are very, VERY big on SPAM in Hawaii and they even have SPAM sushi!

Yes Spam Musubi's are delicious Laurie. You have to have one sometime. I put spam in ramen, spam in sandwiches, spam with hash browns. . . My dad makes spam fried rice. I bought a cheese slicer just to slice my spam. My boyfriend thought I was nuts but he has since found out it is the best way to cut spam the perfect size every time.
