I just joined the forum yesterday and just took in the chin girls yesterday so I am very new to all this

I was sitting on the floor spending some time with the girls .. Juliet is very friendly and out going ,, but Channel is stand offish and will bite .. we know nothing of her past , age , she was dropped off at the humane shelter for being a bitter

I noticed tonight she started sneezing and making this noise like someone trying to breathe with a snuffy nose .. she is not as active as Juliet

all poops in the cage look normal , no runny nose , no watery eyes I am thinking possible URI ?

it does not help that there is a possibility Channel ( and Juliet ) are pregnant both were living with males before coming to the shelter

I mentioned in another thread that Channel needs to see a vet. Have you made an appointment for her? You can get the possible URI checked out while you are there.

Chins also make a kind of wheezy, barky sound when they are in distress - i.e. - scared or upset. That might be what you heard, but since she needs to see a vet for her other issues anyway, you can have that checked while you are there.

yes she has an app this week and is going to get a complete work up I am also taking Juliet in at the same time

I spent sometime with the girls today and Channel seemed fine no sneezing or anything I know she has had a rough couple of days with a lot of changes so maybe she was just upset last night

our vet called this morning said they had an opening since someone canceled

took both Juliet and Channel in ... Channel does not have a URI vet everything checked out fine she may of had a random sneeze and was a little stressed the other night.

As for her foot / eye issue .. vet thinks she was dropped at some point and hurt her foot / possible head and never was treated for a foot injury but it is healed now and there is not much that can be done she can use the foot and hold things

her tail looks like it was either caught in the wheel or possibly a door but it does look like it was lost and not a birth defect

so Channel has had a hard life before we got her .. but that is all behind her now

Juliet is perfectly fine a little mad since she was handled by people she does not know but she did not bite anyone just lid her eyes down and looked really mad lol

too early to tell if girls are pregnant unless we do an ultra sound and that can be pricey so for now we are just going to watch and see if we see any signs of change if Juliet is pregnant we will not know till October babies should be born in early November I think

I'm coming up on September 1st if you'd like for me to stop by and take a look at the girls to maybe see if I can tell if they are pregnant. :)

I'm glad that Channel doesn't have a URI. That's a good thing!

Which vet do you use up there?

our rescue use's Arizona Exotic Animal Hospital .. Dr. Jay Johnson we were seeing Dr. Wright but he left to go into private mobile business

they treat all our piggies , chins , rabbits , and rats

if you are ever in my area stop by and visit all critters here :)
