I've found a breeder and the chin I want to buy from her. Now it's a race to be the first to lay down the 50% deposit! I tried setting up a paypal account, only to find it take a few days to confirm the account with the bank. So...the only other method is money order. I tried calling the breeder to ask if I sent a photo copy of the money order through an email and sent it if she would still put him on hold...No response thus far. I am so anxious! The breeder is so very reputable and all her babies are so gorgeous that it's somewhat or a race to get the chin you want!

my thoughts are that there are many reputable breeder and i am sure you will get the chin that is meant for you. No need to race.

A reputable breeder is going to me more interested in who would provide the better home, not who would put the deposit down first. Just something to think about.

No doubt there are plenty of reputable breeders! Unfortunately I could not find many breeders in my area. They tend to be waaaay up north or several hours away. Tried to keep closer to home so that the car ride wouldn't be too stressful or long. But you are right! It's meant to be when then time comes. Hard not to get excited about it all though!

Contact her and see if she can list him as pending until your PayPal account clears.

If you add a credit card on your paypal account it will clear asap...instead of waitinf for the deposit from your bank account

Sometimes there will be two good homes for a chin and a deposit is necessary. I try to go with first come, first served here, but sometimes a deposit is necessary. I'm glad that this breeder has people wanting her chins enough to have this happen...it doesn't happen much here anymore since the recession hit.

She offered to do the pending status, then I figured out the credit card bit and sent the money. Will be setting the cage up soon and posting pics on the FN thread in the next couple weeks. Thanks everyone for the advice and help!

congrats but if this falls through or if you want another chin later, you can also adopt - there are so many chins who need good homes. I've gone both ways and I love all of my adopted furbabies at least as much as my breeder, breed babies.

Inside I am squealing like little miss muffet!! Too mellow to actually do it aloud heh, but thought I would share the pic of my future baby boy with everyone!

I know unexpected things can happen in life and this may fall through, in which case I will have no problem finding a rescue.

I've been trying to guess how dark he will be. His papa (kerian) is extra dark and his mommie (venus) is a tov eb. You can look at the parents here.

I got two Chins from her and have been really happy with the both business aspect, sweet chins and her return emails on any questions out there well after the sale. She's super nice and I couldn't be a happier Chin owner! Congrats on your new family member!!!
