Got this in an email and thought I'd share:

Hi Everybody.

I've told you time and time again what a pleasure it is to do business with you and how much I enjoy hearing from each and every one of you. Exotic pet owners are, indeed a unique breed. However, our ship is slowly sinking and we can't stay afloat without your help!

I don't want to bail out but we are unable to keep putting our money, our energy and our time into Pet Products By Nature if it is not producing enough sales to make ends meet and we can't afford the time it takes to keep second guessing what will make our business work. Jeff continues to talk about getting another truck driving job and it’s sounding more and more like he’s serious. Because of my own physical limitations, I am unable to go about business as usual without his help. We’ve worked our fannies off filling our inventory room to the brim, yet very little is going out.

THIS IS WHAT YOU CAN DO TO HELP: Go Here! Answer a few simple questions...be candid...and I do mean candid…brutally candid!!! We will never know who it came from unless you choose to provide your name. Please take a few minutes to complete this form. If I do not get a better idea of what makes our customers purchase, or not purchase our products, I will be forced to close the doors of PPBN for good.YOUR HELP IS CRUCIAL FOR THE FUTURE OF PET PRODUCTS BY NATURE!

As always, I look forward to doing business with you!

Create Peace,
Barbi Lowell

I encourage everyone to buy from Barbi. The chins love the variety and no one else I've found has as much variety and quality product as she does. I missed being able to buy from them so much when they were forced to close for a while. I hope they are able to make it work this time!

I buy from her she's pretty reliable. I've placed 6 big orders from her this year and haven't been disappointed yet.

I didn't even know about this store. There's alot of variety and very reasonable prices. I wish I had known about this site. Thanks for the link.

I placed an order. The kids need more variety anyway and buying from petstores gets expensive.

I LOVE this place! Everyone should be supporting the little businesses that still care about their customers and their pets! My chins love her stuff and we will be lost if she closes!

I totally forgot about her site! I love her stuff and she has amazing prices and specials. :) I'm trying to place an order right now in hopes to help them not close.

I found their store through this forum and placed my 1st order with them, I can only say on behalf of my babies, they totally approved the nice quality/variety wood chews and gave their paws up(hard to do thumbs up~LOL.)

I've never heard of this site before but i wish i would have found it sooner. I always need wood, lol!! I will be placing my order tonight as well!! Hopefully we can help them out!!

Just placed a large order, and filled out their questionnaire. I am hopeful that they will be able to stick around. I never knew about them until today.

I'm going to tell everyone I can to help support this store. I think the main problem of the store is that not alot of people have heard of it. We can definitely fix that!

They have a lot of great stuff!

And, as my grandfather used to say, "You ain' jest whistlin' Dixie, lil' girl".

I ordered from Barbi back in December or January, and after I filled their toys, the boys hopped from one to another to the next, little nibble here, nibble there, trying to figure out where to start! Then they got into a squabble over a piece of ocotillo/whip cactus and I knew things were back to normal. :pillowfight:

That said, Barbi and her husband know what they're doing with these products, and she takes the time to be friendly and personable in *every* email I've sent back and forth. A lot of business owners/operators just can't or won't do that.

I've dug around *a lot* of places to find the best for my boys, and I was very, very pleased with what I got from PPbN. I think those of us who realize what a value it is need to help them get the word out.
Ways to do that:
* Post to other forums, since their products would work for rabbits, guinea pigs, degus, hamsters, parrots, and some kinds of fish, lizards, and turtles.
* Send Barbi pictures and happy customer statements for her website.
* Give gift certificates for their store to people who buy/adopt chins and/or participate in the Christmas gift exchange. Even just a $10 order + the samples they've been advertising should be enough to get somebody's chinnies hooked, and build their customer base.
* I'm going to email Barbi an idea for T-shirts that her customers can wear to animal-related events (adoption days, chin shows, herp shows, etc.) and spread the word that way too.

Anything else you can think of? Let her know.

I am going to be up to my ears in wood if people don't stop having these sales. I just got 6 lbs. of wood in a scrap pack, and got 3 lbs free. Total: $48.00

9 lbs. of wood for under $50, including shipping?! I've only done mulberry and apple before, so I am hoping they like the others.

My chins LOVE their stuff! I am really hoping all the new orders will help. I really like the T-shirt idea.
