Something is puzzling me... For their mixed toy parts, the July special is to buy 1lb & get 1lb free for $12, but then another special is to buy 5lbs & get 3lbs free for $60. Wouldn't it be cheaper to get 5 of the 1 lb deal and get 5lb for free?:hmm: For $60, I would get 10lbs instead of 8 lbs. Am I missing something?

I ordered from them a few years ago. My chins went crazy for their wood. I am definitely going to order some more...

The buy 5 lb get 3 free includes shipping. The buy 1 get 1 does not. You'd have to do the math and see what's cheaper with shipping.

It's funny that so many of you are just finding this site. I had been ordering from them years ago, and I was turned off by their awful customer service. I was grossly overcharged for shipping twice. I was assured I would be credited for the overage, and I wasn't.

The final straw for me was when they basically told all of us we weren't important enough to them so they were going only to eBay. Then they came begging back to us when they discovered eBay was LESS profitable for them. Their products were always high quality, but I can't support companies that don't value their customers.

The sales they're running right now seem like a pretty good deal. I just know I ordered from them once and was surprised at how little wood I got for the price. I think that was when they were solely on ebay, so maybe it's different now.

I love getting a mix of woods because I use them to make toys, but I know I've gotten a better deal from members on here.

I loved PPBN's products but I stopped buying from them when they went to eBay only and haven't ordered from them since, because my herd has gotten so large that I started making my own products. My chins loved what I got from them though and if they hadn't switched to eBay only I likely would have purchased from them several more times.

I like to spread business around so-to-speak but I've been ordering from PPBN for years...quite literally and I love their stuff. It was more price-y in the past a little bit but the deals/sales are really good now. I've never personally had a bad experience with them and the babies love their wood so it's always been worth it to me.

Either way, I would hate to see them go out of business...we need to keep everyone's stores running because everyone knows safe/good chinchilla supplies are few and far between as it is.

Maybe we should suggest she join here and post special deals in the classifieds? Not sure if it would be appropriate but we need to keep them going!

I just ordered from them and was pleased with the experience. I got 1lb scrap pak 1lb free. It cost me under 20$ with the shipping (Which compared to petstore wood is a steal-and there is ALOT more variety)

She sent me free samples of almost every kind of wood they sell there, was very polite on the emails, and prompt to ship out. (I ordered Wednesday morning, and recieved today-Friday Morning)

I ordered last Sunday and still haven't received it :(, but I still can't wait to get it.

Have you contacted her? From what I have been told it normally doesn't take that long for her to process the orders and ship. I haven't received mine yet, but I only ordered on Thursday.

Yes, maybe I should. I'll call in the morning.

I believe they lost quite a few customers when they changed to the just ebay selling, then back. I personally don't know about quality, service, etc. I contacted them once years ago about getting wholesale priced from them, it took a long time for them to reply, then the wholesale prices weren't really much cheaper, just bigger sizes if I remember correctly.

I've heard people who love them, and people who won't buy there again. I think that with any small business it's important to get your name out, joining a forum like this or one of the many others is an easy and free way to advertise. If you help people, post, and they "get to know you" the sales with come.

I ordered 12 lbs of scrap willow on sunday last week and it came on tuesday, chins loved the new type of wood.

Ordered a whole slew of stuff on Thursday night and it arrived today. Smells great, looks awesome, and she included their sample pack. Less than $60 with shipping, and easily weighs 10 pounds. :D

I'm gonna have SO much fun!

I weighed mine today when I recieved it and it weighed exactly 10 lbs, so I can't complain about the price. All the pieces looked great, and I would say about 50% were already drilled. Tomorrow will be my drilling day for the rest. Needless to say, I am very, very happy with the order. Also, the amount of different woods in there was crazy.

I have placed a few orders with them. I love it when they send out their monthly emails to let me know what deals they have.

I misunderstood their sale last month and thought I was going to receive 2x the amount of wood I received. I emailed them twice and they said "the customer is always correct." They shipped me the extra wood and I received it a few days later. They also reworded their sale so no one else was mixed up.

I bought a mix of all their woods to see what my chins like. I will from now on only buy in bulk on their sales but I cant complain. Their shipping has been ok also.

Just wish they sold Apple wood... Id like to buy everything at once.

I placed an order today..........wanted to try a few different woods.
We own a small(ish) business so I have always been a big fan of buying local and/or from small ma & pa shops. you usually get better customer service than with the larger chain stores that "often" employ people who really don't care. I love hearing stories of people online here that get jobs in big pets stores. the more of those type of people protecting our beloved animals, the better!

Well I received my order yesterday afternoon, it really didn't matter to me that it took this long for me to receive it (order was placed on 7/12). I was just wondering why everybody else was getting their order a lot faster than me and thought there might be a problem so I emailed them twice since Sunday and never got a response from them. It was definitely worth the wait. I found out that the pecan coins are now my boys favorite chew over the apple wood.
