I'm sure most of you have probably watched the news and heard that there were Octuplets born earlier this week.

Of course that's amazing, but what's even more incredible is that the parents already had six other children!

Holy cow! 14 kids.

Wow, I just think that is amazing they all are doing ok. Did it say if she used fertility drugs? (Sorry, too lazy to read the article!)

I'm the oldest of 9 in 15 years, and I can't imagine it - Everything x 8! Plus 6 others? [Can you say Quaaludes?] They still haven't mentioned fertility drugs, but I imagine so!

That is insane... HOw the heck do you support them all??

One at a time here please, that is just crazy poppin out kids like puppies. But cudos to her if she can handle it

What makes me sad is that those kids will never get enough one on one attention, and chances are they will live off donations from companies who want to look good for "helping someone out". Like that last set, they got two vans, car seats, formula, diapers for life ( until they were potty trained) and all kinds of stuff free, then she wrote a book about it and is making money off that.

No one has said, but I'd bet that fertility drugs were involved, people just do not have that many children naturally. Personally I don't think it's a "miracle" I think it's disgusting.

I just want to make sure it's clear, I'm not saying that CHILDREN are not a miracle, but that people take tons of drugs to have that many, and the video sounded like they lived with one of the sets of parents because it said the grandparents were overwhelmed that they are taking care of 6 kids, and they will be having 8 more to take care of. Seriously a person can't run a daycare with that many kids without having someone to help.

It's pretty incredible! I watch 17 kids and counting with my mom and it's absolutely mind boggling how many kids they are, how much food they eat.. I get dizzy just watching an episode!

Then there's Jon&Kate.. I love those two. Kate's very OCD but I think with 8 kids you almost have to be, you know?
I think I'll stick with 2 when I get to the point of having children....hahaha

I could not agree more.

I couldnt imagine! Its like having a litter at that point. lol

I would certainly be thanking my lucky stars i have a big family if i were in their shoes!

Reminds me of the Simpson episode with apu & his wife have the 8. They had them preforming, etc. I have to agree to a degree with riven, its got to be tough to be almost forced into doing that to live though.

I'm losing my mind and I have 2 that are 8 years apart.....not a chance I'd even think of having that many!!!

That'd be crazy. I would never want to have that many at a time. But I do disagree Nicole when you say that it's sad that they will never get enough one on one attention. I think that it depends on the family. It may not be the same as other families, but I'm sure they can grow up happy with how much time they've spent with their parents.
The parents just have to make it a priority to make sure that they do spend time with each of them individually. I don't know them, so I can't really defend them, but I just dont think I could say that.
Just my opinion

SHE used fertility drugs. She chose to have 8 embryos implanted, there is no mention of a father. She lives with her mother and father. Last year she filed bankruptcy and had her house foreclosed.

14 children under the age of 8. The state needs to step in and take some away because the state is going to end up caring for them anyway.

Carol, I think the question is what doctor allows their patient to go on fertility drugs after having six children including a set of twins that required a c-section? It's not really good uterine health.

There's nothing wrong with having large families, but I feel that a lot of people aren't responsible about it. Being a proponent of adoption, I don't understand how couple who can't conceive naturally and only want one more child after having sets of multiples before, go back on fertility drugs knowing that multiples is usually the end result instead of adopting.

I think 14 kids is WOW! alot to handle and I would not want to do it ,but I think that to say she needs some removed is not fair as Fertility treatments are not cheap and alot of insurances (including state aid do not pay for them) so, she obviously had money somewhere.
I do agree though after six why more? I have 4 and in this day and age I worry about their college funds, retirement, school clothes, ETc. I cannot imagine anyway to provide that for 14 kids..

According to a fertility dr interviewed this morning, no ethical clinic would take her as a client with 6 existing children. They also would not implant 8 embryos, the guidelines call for a maximum of 2 at a time, saving the rest for later.

Rumors have it that she went to an underground clinic in Mexico.

And a single mother with 14 children is going to be a state burden. She can't work, she'll be on state aid and that's wrong.
