Over the past couple of weeks I have noticed Smudge losing interest in his hay..I've also been noticing he's been eating less pellets, and on average he has been losing about 8 grams a week. He's down 24 grams from when I first noticed him losing interest in his hay. I've also noticed that when he chews his sticks, he will only chew the ends, then lose interest pretty quickly. His back end is starting to look a little under groomed; he always has fur poking out.

When he chews/eats, he doesn't paw at his mouth or anything, but it does look like he's more slow and methodical at chewing. I don't know if he really is, or if it's just my imagination.

Regardless, he has a vet appointment tomorrow. Please send good thoughts that it's just Smudge being weird and not teeth issues...

We will keep our quills crossed here that he just needs a little filing and he will return to his normal ol Smudgy self.

Thanks everyone. It has been weighing on my mind since I first noticed him acting off. I really do hope it's something minor if nothing at all. I'll let you all know how is vet appointment goes tomorrow.

Hopefully the Tradition will spark his appetite again. Sometimes a food switch can make all the difference.

Good luck tomorrow at the vet Stack and Smudge.

Fingers and chinnie paws crossed here that it ends up being either nothing or something easily fixable. Good luck.

sending good thoughts your way, stace. youre a great chin-mama so if this is anything at all, you acted fast.

giz and i will be saying an extra bedtime prayer for smudge.

Hopefully he's just going through an eating less phase and the other things are just coincidental. Good luck, if anything is wrong with him, you most likely caught it super early anyhow!!!

10 human fingers and 8 chinnie paws crossed for you and Smudge. Good luck tomorrow!

Aw smudge is in my thoughts! I am hoping and hoping its not teeth stuff. : /

Good luck. In either case he is a lucky guy to have you to care for him
