Lol I've posted like 6 threads in the newbie forums..
But for a male chin, what should I name him? I'm thinking Charlie or Nilly or Nelly. Give me some ideas! :)

You should decide your chin's name based on the chin's appearance and personality. And on your name preferences.See what he is like when you get him and name him then.
Out of those three, I like Charlie.

Naming is difficult. I am notorious for taking months to name new animals. My co-workers even check in on my pet naming since they know I'm so bad about it. I go for human names, but that's just me.

Hopefully i wont get in trouble for this. But when i got my one male ferrets it took so long to come up with a name for him. Technicly i never did think of a name. But since ferrets sometime like to nip your toes when their out, your contentsly getting that nip when your not expecting it. And we always end up shouting something along the line of 'ah! You little f***er!'

... so 'little f***er' ending up becoming his name lol.

LMFAO nice name godofgods

As for naming it took me 3 days to figure out the names. I look at personality and think of the first thing that comes in my mind when I look at them.

I agree with the others that you really can't come up with a suitable name until you've met him and learned his personality, appearance, etc. He won't mind being nameless for a few days while you come up with the perfect name. Make sure you let us know what you decide!

As I read this I laughed to myself at how I called my finches "little ones" for the longest time (and sometimes still do) and refer to one of my kittens that way. I went to quote this immediately then checked the second page real quick to make sure nobody said your post was bad, and read your second post about the same nickname!!

I'm pretty bad with naming my pets as well. I generally keep their names from the previous owner, as I did with my first one, E. So, I named my second one F!
But when I got my next 2 I named them after their personality/looks. Thus came Chubs and Friendly!
My fifth one is white with a beige spot and his previous owner named him Patch Attack. It's cute, so I kept it. :))

Maybe that'll give you some ideas! :p

honestly, even after finally getting names for my last to kits... i still never call em it. I always end up calling them 'little one'. Becoming a hard habit to break.

I do that too!! Little one or baby...And because of that, it only prolongs the naming process. I also think your ferret's name is hilarious and fitting!

well, let us know, Chris! sometimes they sort of tell you what their names should be when you meet. as for me, i've always waited before, but i took one look at Dusty's pic and knew that should be her name. (now i just have to keep her away from preachers' sons unless we want kits!)
Godofgods, don't feel bad--my favorite aunt had a cat that no one could agree on a name for. she ended up called "Cat" for all of her 16 or 17 years!

Carleigh, the letter-names are hilarious! it makes me think of that old BBC show "The Prisoner" where everyone's name was a number.
Good thing you aren't a breeder, or you'd have pets named 12A and 16G.
too funny!

Hey guys! I just got him today and he's ADORABLE! I'm trying to think about a name. He's very active and loves to jump around. He's actually pretty friendly. He was sniffing me through the cage and let me feed him a cheerio. He has the most amazing coat of fur! Also, I think it would be cute if he was either named after a food or had a name that starts with CH. (I know someone who named theirs waffle and I think that's adorable). I'm thinking Chip might be a good name... maybe Chestnut. Give me your input! :)

Some of my choices so far are Chip, Charlie, Bagel, Bean, Hoover.

I think it's cute when they are named after food! :) (As i said before.. LOL!)

Help me guys! I feel stumped on a name!

Not yet, I would now but he's taking a nap. But about the boards.. The washers that came with it are a little too small, so the board will fall into the cage. What would you suggest I do to fix it? All the bigger washers at Home Depot had bigger holes also so it didn't make a difference!
