left eye swollen, sneezing

Oscar has just started making weird little squeaky sneezing noises and his left eye is slightly swollen. He's also rubbing his face against the bars when he makes the noises.

He got into some tea bags that were left on the top of the cage. Are chins allergic to tea?

Just curious what this could be and what I should expect bringing him to the vet. He's eating and chewing on wood, and drinking still.

he may be having mouth discomfort, are his eyes running? see what the vet has to say, malocclusion may be a possibility. i'm not terribly knowledgeable in the subject but i'm sure other members will chime in. sneezing alone, however, worries me. good luck at the vet keep us posted!

No, they don't look runny at all. Just the skin around his eye is swollen.

It may not even be sneezes. It's more like a noise he's making with his voice. Like a rough squeak when he's rubbing his nose against the bars or shelves.

What kind of tea did he get into? I too would take him to the vet. How is he doing today?

He may have gotten a piece into his eye? I would bring him to the vet before it turns into an infection to get it rinsed and looked at

Sorry it took so long to reply, I got pretty busy. Oscar ended up getting better before I was able to bring him to the vet. I'm guessing he's maybe just allergic to whatever kind of tea it was. He's back to his normal grouchy self!
