Most def a scam. My husband is selling his Blazer on CL. A man sent him an e-mail stating that he was more than interested and that he wanted to send a Bank Cashiers check for the payment. Without even coming to see the car. Plus the way the e-mail was worded seemed off. It didn't look like a normal average person writing.

But as it clearly states on CL to everyone selling, that they should AVOID Cashiers Checks, MoneyOrders, etc.

So I ended up sending this guy an e-mail saying that we can only accept cash. Never heard from him since... So, read any e-mails carefully and just don't answer if it sounds fishy.

Any time I read things like "mode of transaction" or come across someone that can't speak proper English..."I will like to proceed with..." or saying that they want to get this done "asap" or "quickly" - its a scam. I've been coming across emails like this for years.

My easy way to spot a scam from craigs list: If they aren't local, its a scam! It is set up to search for things in your local area. If they are more than a state away and want to pay for it some weird way it is most definitely a scam.
