About a day ago, my mother came over to visit. She loves my chin, Leo, so we had him running around in his little "chinchilla room". I left to use the restroom, and when I got back, Leo was on the ground twitching and bleeding. She basically stepped on him/kicked him in the face. It didn't help that this was at 8pm on a Sunday, and all the vets in our area were closed. Thankfully, she knew a vet who was qualified to treat chinchillas, and he came to the clinic on his day off, and looked at Leo, without even asking for any payment. Thankfully, none of his bones were broken, and he was basically just in shock, and had a terrible nose bleed. The vet gave Leo a shot to stop any swelling that might occur, and we went home. Now he's starting to seem a little bit better, although, he seems dazed and confused. What worries me is that he still has occasional blood coming from his nose, and he won't open his eyes, and he's so confused I have to hold his food for him, or else he just drops it and makes this pitiful little chirp/sigh. I'm just really worried because this is the first time Leo's been injured. Any advice/tips from more experienced owners would be greatly appreciated. Also, I apologize for the lengthy explanation.
