Hi hi, my name is Yue and i am about 2 weeks close to get my chinchilla home ^^
I found this forum while i was wondering in which environment to keep my chinchilla.
I've just bought the cage, food yesterday, and i am super excited :bliss:
and just yerterday found a perfect name for my her ^^ Robin~
Everything is awesome, when she gets home it will be heaven like

I've searched 5 entire months, waiting for this moment for sooooo long.

Welcome!
That's so exciting that you'll be getting your baby home. I'm a new chin owner myself and am loving every minute of it!

I, too, do frightening amounts of research on the best of everything for my boys, and from what I've read on here, people keep their chins in
a) the living room where they can see them a lot
b) a spare bedroom where it will be quieter in the daytime and once they're completely comfortable with you and ready for playtime they can have a chin-safe space to play in
c) really any place as long as it's cold enough for them to be in safely.

I know I have mine in a spare room for now, but that's because it's the coldest spot in the house as it's farthest from our heater. I know when summer comes, I'll need to find the new coldest spot in the house, which I'm pretty sure is the living room.

Also, if you're not finished decorating, I really recommend:

It's a specific cage, but it could still give you lots of ideas on how to decorate the cage, safe toys, and alternative ideas for bedding and such. But I will warn you it might make you a little toy crazy if you're wanting to spoil your chinnie. I know I'm having a hard time pacing myself!

Welcome Yue! I can tell you are very excited to get your chinchilla! I would be the same way! We would love to see pics when she is home!

thank you all! my chinchilla just arrived home!
but i guess she's a little scared and nervous, Robin stops and petrifies when i approach O.O
thanks for the site, i really do need to add some toys and wooden racks.
someday she will understand that i am like a mother D:
she's lovely O.O

Congratulations!
Don't worry, there are tons of threads about nervous chins when you first get them. :) Just give her time and let her get used to you.
