I was just wondering how to safely color my wood blocks. I have some food coloring lying around and I was wondering if I could use that?

Yes food coloring is what I use to color my wood toy parts here. I go onto bake the wood in my oven at a very low temp until dry after drying it. If you feel like getting creative, there are some food grade markers out there as well.

you can also use kool aid, sugar free.. don't mix it with anything... just add water and flavor :)

Do i put the food coloring right on the block? Or do I add it to water and let the block sit in it?

I didn't know about the markers, that is a great idea, we need to decorate our chinnies houses I made so this would work as well.

Do not use "Sugar Free" Coolaid. Use the little packets that have no sugar or sweeteners of any kind. Do not add sugar to it.
