Dumpster Degu

so a couple weeks ago, a woman brought came into my work with a pink plastic hamster ball. She said her son found it in the dumpster outside her apartment and didn't know what to do with it. We opened it and there was the cutest little degu inside. I just cannot believe someone would just throw an animal away like that. it horrifies me. my friend/coworker ended up taking her home, and said she is the sweetest thing. illowfight:

Stupid people can do stupid things unfortunately. Thank goodness the woman spotted it and your coworker is adopting her! tell her good luck.

I can't believe people can be so cruel and careless with a life! Animals are not disposable and it is too bad that person can't be held accountable for their actions! I'm happy to hear that the little guy gets a second chance at a good life with your coworker! We need more people like her!

What a strange way to find a degu. It's not like they're overpopulated or anything. Glad he found a good home.

Something like this happened to my dad while he was working at our local Transfer station. One of his co workers came back to the shop and gave my dad a box. Here, in the box, was a peach colored hamster that my dads coworker found in a dumpster while he was doing his route. My dad brought him home and we cleaned the hamster up a bit. Lucky went on living for about 3mths then passed away unexpectedly.

It truely is amazing what people are capible of. Its sickening and very sad. But fortunately for that little guy, it was saved.
