I honestly have almost ran out of options for my chin. I let him out for an hour sometimes even more once or twice a week, he just got a new ferret nation 182 cage with plenty of wooden ledges and he gets entry of food and always has water.
Yet, he is almost never happy. He paces the cage and runs around on the same level, back and forth. He barks and squeals all the time and is constantly banging on the cage door and trying to break through it. I have no idea what he wants.
The only thing he doesn't really have is a proper wheel. I have a 12" in his cage for now until his 15" chin spin comes in. He never used the wheel but I have it just in case.
Other than that he's a pretty mellow chin but I have no idea why he's so upset!! Help?

He sounds like a regular active chin, bouncing around in his environment, and begging for your attention!

It doesn't sound like he's really upset. Maybe just a bit bored? Perhaps shorter play times, but more frequently might help? Like perhaps a half hour play time, four times a week?

Does he have plenty of toys?

My chin used to shake and gnaw at the bars of his cage to get out for exercise. Even though he got out for playtime every day for an hour. I finally got him a flying saucer wheel and since that day this behaviour has stopped completely. He uses his wheel every day and loves it. It was really a great investment. Maybe your chin is bored and needs more activities. I think the wheels really help if you don't have the always have the time to take him out of his cage.

That would be a chin. They are athletic balls of energy wrapped in fluff. Mine just try to shove their head through the door though. Mostly for treats. They get to play in a bathroom with a cat litter box full of blue cloud (you have no idea what kind of mess that makes) every other day. We have some connected bendable logs and various plastic containers they jump on and off of and love jump from the litter box to the toilet which quickly becomes covered in blue cloud. They still bounce around their ferret nation cages like idiots every evening and beg for treats every morning. We're saving up for wheels and more ledges.
