Hi there, my chin was playin around her cage climbin up this new house i got her she went the back of it an got her leg caught in the cage, there was no way out i had to her the cage an cut carefuly to free her leg, she's very very quiet which isnt like her, she can walk on it an but limps she let me cuddle her and feel it afterwards she didnt make any noise like it was hurting her, what if shes broke her leg ( its her back one ) i know this is gonna sound daft but if its broken what can the vet do i really dont want her to loose it, its 4am here im gonna sit up an watch her till 8am and take her the vet straight away and get everythin checked out

If it is broken, vets can set it or amputate. Most chins do just fine with amputation. They are not as hung on injuries as we humans are.

She may be just fine. She may just have sprained it.
If it's broken at worst they may have to amputate it,but there are quite a few tripods around that do just great.

she seems active now, shes wonderin why ive taken her fleece cube down of the top of the cage so she doesnt jump up, shes walkin around a tiny bit of limpin, but on the safe side im goin straight the vets

It is best to have an xray or a vet visit. We had another member who had this happen and although the chin seemed okay and was walking they discovered the leg was broken in more than one place.

And yes chins do just fine with amputation. Please keep us posted!

I'm glad you're taking her to the vet - better to be safe than sorry. The vet can take an X-Ray and see if there is anything wrong. Let us know.

i will do, i was panicking so much i was shaken tryin to get her free i didnt try an push her leg back thru incase i done any damage, good job i had wire cutters right next to the cage i forgot to put them back after i built the cage now the side has a big hole in it, not worried about the cage it can always be repaired, just worried about her if she will be okay

More power to you for cutting the cage to free the chin! You did good. I'm sure you can block the hole for the time being. Be sure to move the house!!

Hi guys thank you :) just got back now, sookie seemed her self she was bouncin' around the vet table, the vet really gave her leg a good look at, checked all her toes, foot, leg knee and hip she said she couldnt feel any any breaks or fractures, no bruises no cuts and she seems to be walkin on it fine, she actually jumped back into her carrier box lol, she said let her rest dont let her jump all over the place an in a few days she should be okay, i did ask her for a xray but she didnt really want to put her under sedation to do so
