Chinchilla & Plastic

Hey there,

My chin managed to get some plastic recently and chewed on some of it. He didn't appear to have ingested much (if any) - just chewed - but I want to be certain that he's okay. As far as I know, the main concern is blockage, for which I'd need to monitor his poops (which have been fine). Are there additional things I should watch for, and for how long? It's already been about a day and a half, but I want to be certain he's okay.

Yes, just continue to keep an eye on him. If there's a piece in there that's going to get impacted it shouldn't be any more then a day or two. Chins are constantly pooping and passing things through their GI system. I've done the waiting game before, I know how nerve racking it can be. :-(

Thanks! I figured it shouldn't take more than a few days to work anything through his system, but I wanted to make sure there were no other warning signs I should be looking for. Appreciate your help!

As long as he is pooping and peeing like normal, he should be fine. If he begins to act lethargic or weird in any way, take him to the vet.
