Ok.. So 3 days ago my chin fell off the back of my couch and hit his mouth or head really hard on my desk and about 24 hours after that he started having chronic seizures for about 2-3 hours starting around 5pm, the next day after the seizures had stopped he started sleeping ALOT and doesn't have much of an appetite, When I hold him and pet him he starts squeaking, wheezing and jolting a whole lot for a few seconds. (I forgot to add that for about a week he was sleeping in his dust bath I don't know if this caused this or not).

Did you ever consider taking him to a VET? If your chin smashed his head into something and having seizures, why is he not at a vet?

It's really weird why ppl always ask why is my chin acting weird, no offense, but if u hit your head really hard and started having seizures, would u go to a doctor?
Chins aren't invincible and they do get hurt and they won't mend themselves.
Please please be considerate and take your chin to an exotic vet if it's not already dead since its already been so long. SIGH

Him sleeping in his dust ball did not cause his behavior. My guess is it's probably too late for him by now. You should have taken him to a vet when you first seen signs of his weird behavior.

Wow...I'm sure hoping this isn't a valid post...because I think any responsible person would have taken their chin to the vet asap! There is no other option.

He could be in quite a bit of pain. What does he do when he seizes? A head injury can mean so many different things! He could have brain damage or swelling, his teeth could be damaged or he could have some major bruising on his head and neck and face.

You have to take something like this seriously and get to the vet right away. The vet can help with head injuries but usually in the first few hours after they occur. If you don't have a good vet, post your location and someone here can find a vet for you or recommend one.

When he seizes he lays on his side and well.. has a seizure while it was going on he is moving his jaw and left hind leg around quite a bit. The reason I haven't got him to a vet is I have no way to get to a veterinary clinic and I can't afford a vet visit. I feel so bad for the poor fella. :(

Post your location and people here will help you locate a vet. Some may even be able to help you get there. As far as cost many vets will work with you. For our cat's emergency surgery we did a payment plan because our vet knew he would die without the surgery that day.

Care Credit saved us big time when my dog needed to go to the e-vet. But either way, you can't let him continue to suffer. He either needs treatment or to be humanely put down if he is bad off...

Quit being selfish and either get the animal the veterinary care that it deserves and obviously is in desperate need of or else surrender the animal to someone who can afford the care or humanely end its suffering.Oh and by the way, don't go out and buy anymore live animals until you are better able financially and emotionally to care for a living creature. You are not rescuing/saving ,or in any way helping an animal by taking on something you can't handle. I know it sounds harsh but I'm saying because it needs to be said.

If you truely wanted your pet to get to a vet you could get it to a vet, as far as money goes, its not expensive to have the chin put down, which at this point is what you should do. Karma will prevail because no matter how insignificant the act, it will eventually return to the doer with equal impact. Good will be returned with good; evil with evil, and you are truely evil letting this animal suffer.

I'm not evil or selfish the only exotics vet is 100 miles away and I have no one in town to drive me and the only person in the state I know who can drive me is 200 miles away and I doubt they would do that for me.

:clap1:

It did need to be said; unfortunately, it needs to be said often.

I JUST DONT GET IT and I am so tired of saying that where animals and children are concerned. Some people just don't deserve to be called human beings.

Your local vet can consult with an exotics vet over the phone. It doesn't take an exotics vet to put a chinchilla to sleep who has been severely injured.

I don't get why when people have an actual emergency why the spend time posting on a forum instead of rushing the chin to the vet. Unless you need help finding a e-vet or are waiting on your vet appointment and would like advice on what you should maybe ask the vet about. People on here give really great advice and can maybe help you with somethings you could do to help your chin until the appointment, but ultimately you need to go to the vet. I didn't post anything on here that was going on with my girls that recently passed away because I knew that they needed vet attention and I knew that would be the advice I would get from people and every time a complication came up I was in the car running to the vet I didn't waste any time because I have learned with my girls passing they can go down really quick and time should not be wasted. I hope no one takes this the wrong way because I mean this to be in the chins best interest but if you have an actual emergency you should be smart enough to know that the chin needs a vet and no one on here can give advice that would substitute for a vet visit. I'm sorry if this sounds rude but I read the chin emergencies and on some of them I am always thinking in the back of my mind why are they on here instead of at the vets office?
