There are a lot of younger chin owners on here who depend on assistance from their parents. Perhaps this is one of those cases, but if so the parents really need to step up to assist. When they don't the animals are the ones to suffer. :(

If this is not the case, there is really no excuse. It's irresponsible to have an animal you cannot provide with proper medical attention, even if it's just to put it down and end the suffering.

Where are you located? Hopefully you are near a breeder/rescue that can take this poor chin and get it to a vet to be treated/euthanized.

I might be new to having chins but I am not new to owning pets ... any GOOD pet owner would have thought this through and the possibility of one day having to take the pet to a vet incase of emergency

I work with an animal rescue that takes in pets that people no longer can care for and some of the excuses they give for surrendering their pets makes me sick but at least they brought them to us instead of just ignoring them and letting them suffer .. if you can not afford this animals vet care I suggest you call a rescue group and see if they can take this poor animal and either get it some help or end its suffering since this has gone on long enough

my only other hope is this animal passes peaceful in his sleep since I highly doubt you will be responsible enough to contact a rescue group

my prayers and thoughts go out to this animal that trusted you with his care

When he seizes he lays on his side and well.. has a seizure while it was going on he is moving his jaw and left hind leg around quite a bit. The reason I haven't got him to a vet is I have no way to get to a veterinary clinic and I can't afford a vet visit. I feel so bad for the poor fella. :(

You need to find a way to get him to the vet. They may even work out a payment plan with you. Feeling bad for the poor fella isn't going to do squat for him. He is in pain and needs medical care. Now, not tomorrow, now.

I'm not evil or selfish the only exotics vet is 100 miles away and I have no one in town to drive me and the only person in the state I know who can drive me is 200 miles away and I doubt they would do that for me.

You are being selfish. If you knew the closest vet was that far away, why get a pet in an emergency like this, where you are causing them to be in constant pain and suffering slowly? And not having a ride. That is being selfish as well as keeping the poor thing in constant pain. If you were in the same position with a child, would you let them suffer because you didn't have a ride? I'd hope not. I'd hope you'd be serious and get someone, anyone to give you a ride to save the child. It's not different with your Chin, Your chin is most likely in severe pain and even dying, yet your letting him suffer because you don't have a ride. Even if you have no money, bring him there anyway and they can work with you, or give him to someone who is capable of caring for him, and not leaving him in constant pain. It's your responsibility as his owner, he can't get help for himself, thats what your for, but right now, your keeping him in pain. Be serious, this could be life or death and you need to get someone to give you a ride no matter what. It seems like your just being lazy about it, Go and ask anyone/everyone you can.
Post your location so maybe someone will help. There are some people who if close enough, would probably drive out to help, or take him so they can help him. You've been asked twice already to post your location for help but don't seem to care.

For the love of God, decency and mercy, call the vet!!!

Many of them will even make house calls to put animals to sleep. This is not a horse or a large dog -- it won't take much.

Just call them, tell them your story and how much pain your chin is in and BEG them to help you put this animal out of its pain and misery!!!

This is just cruel...and sickening...some people just shouldn't own animals. One of my chinnys has horrid teeth problems so as soon as I notice ANY signs of drooling or anything he is getting rushed to his exotic vet and getting his teeth done...

I mean I know money is tight--but your chinchilla is suffering and something needs to be done...
