I worry about people stressing their chins out or completely losing the trust of their animals in the beginning with advice like that. The article is incredibly long with a lot of disclaimers I suspect new chin people may not read and just take it to mean that they should manhandle their chins...

You could get filtered or reverse osmosis bottled water and use it for the chins. I think they have it in Canada...we have it at grocery stores, walmart and other places that sell gallons of bottled water.

More dustbaths can help with keeping her clean. Usually dustbaths are enough to keep chins clean.

Keep them in a clean environment with good ventilation, as well. They are less stressed that way and less stress is better for the immune system.

When hay starts to go stale it starts to fall apart and become dusty. Definitely store the hay in a cool, dry place with good ventilation to ensure it doesn't mold. Hay can keep for 6 months to a year, maybe longer as long as it doesn't get moldy or dry out.
