    "Champagne" Chinchillas

Kawaii! Thanks Sumiko. Will you have any for show and/or sale at the Washington or California State ECBC shows? Attendees may be interested....Indeed, it will be interesting to see this mutation group develop.

    Question about pedigree

Agreed. Some like more, but realistically, how much would more animals on there tell you? If you knew the breeder's animals for several years, by name and/or number, and go to shows, and breed with specific intentionality, then perhaps knowing that chin x or chin y is in a lineage may help. I'm...

    Need help sexing a kit

Yeah I dunno...I typically see more space between the bits on a male, but perhaps you can post another pic around weaning age? When I'm not sure I wait and see.

You should consider attending the ECBC show in Kent this December!

Washington State ECBC Sanctioned Show 2014

Excellent! I hope to see you and lots of Canadian breeders. I'm hoping to get some information on breeders who may have animals for sale at the show as well. I know Dark Star will have some for sure....not sure who else though :-)

Anyone hear of Dr. Foster and Smith before?

I prefer the Kaytee Aspen from Fosterd and Smith in the big bag...4 cubic foot? They're better as shavings...I always thought the type you first mentioned was too much like splintered or crushed wood...I prefer wider shavings. Probably the only thing undone acceptable from Kaytee!

Washington State ECBC Sanctioned Show 2014

Cool! You should definitely snag some other breeders and carpool as well :)

Washington State ECBC Sanctioned Show 2014

Nan, I don't think so as it is a one day show. I suspect most people will want to head home after the show is done. We will have lots of time at the end of the show for awards and animal sales and whatnot as we have the venue all day and evening!

Washington State ECBC Sanctioned Show 2014

I hope you can! Perhaps see if there are SoCal people who would carpool with you!

    Scam

Agreed, I too am getting weary of inquiries lacking good spelling, grammar and in general lack politeness.

    Scam

Thanks for the warning, Sue. There have definitely been more "oddfolk" this year who I don't feel comfortable selling to either.

    Hay?

Kleenmama's 2nd or 3rd is fine. They'll eat what they want, though I find the kits like the 3rd better.

    What kind of glue?

If you go with Elmers it has to be wood glue. I use Gorilla non-toxic water-based wood glue...mainly because I like to overbuild things.
