Hay?

I was wondering what kind of hay you guys would recommend for a baby chinchilla and when they get older? I use Clean Moma's 3rd cut Timothy hay, but I was wondering if you guys had any recommendations. Thanks

I use Oxbow Timothy and some occasional Botanical/Alfalfa.

I believe they say to use more Alfalfa for babies, but I could be wrong.

I've been using Alfalfa for my moms, because I've heard it helps with milk production. So that is what the babies end up munching on.

Timothy is fine thoiugh most people (myself included) prefer to feed 2nd cut. It has a nice balance of stems to leaves.

Kleenmama's 2nd or 3rd is fine. They'll eat what they want, though I find the kits like the 3rd better.
