    Simple/Cheap

The Kikoman's sauce is SO salty - 1 tbsp is like 70% of your sodium intake. I'll be totally honest - a cup of cooked rice, sliced chicken, and about 1/3rd of that Stir-Fry bottle is my absolute most favorite food in the world. Veggies ruin it, even though I love them.

    No more Mac!!

I could never go back to a PC. The only issue I have with my MacBook is some of the edging is coming off. My first Mac lasted me three years, and it was a 4 year old model when I got it. I've never liked PCs and I was forced to push HP for Circuit City, when I was dealing with mountains of...

    Applying for a new job

But can you imagine walking for 8 hours a day 6 days a week with dogs? Haha. Those sound like great jobs. I did my time at burger joints and know how much of a pain it can be.

    Favorite blogs/things to read online?

Since I've started working at home I've had a lot of down time on the computer. I read a couple blogs regularly, but I thought it would be nice to share some favorites, I always love new material. I read best of craigslist and visit most of the I can has cheezburger sites. Also read...

    Kaytee Chinchilla food.

So you are saying people who use Kaytee dust are providing the "bare minimum" and that using hay that has been swept up in dust and other crap that falls on a feed store's floor is just fine to feed? And Kaytee is a dust, not a sand. Sand is what they use a lot overseas, it has a much different...

Wow! Never thought I would say this!

The Duggar's children don't act up, that is true. However, the use of religion to control a child's behavior for fear of being damned or "crossing God" is wrong. The family typically works together well and I've never seen issues, but their level of control over what their kids do (chaperones...

Wow! Never thought I would say this!

I have never seen a crazier family (aside from the Phelp's family). They let their choice of faith put them in a position where they cannot care for their children without making them watch each other. Ridiculous, privates are not clown cars. As far as Jon and Kate, I think having the tapes of...

Those of you that need a beach vacation in NC and VA..

They do these things because they work - making deals sound irresistible. Anybody seen the South Park episode where they make fun of this kind of thing? They were invited to a ski trip in Aspen I think. Funny!

    How Many Have you read?

14 here. The one that stuck out the most was The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time. Loved it.

    Global Warming - Yeah, Right!!

I hate the weather here so far this year. Not cold enough in the winter, too humid and hot in the summer. Lately it has been better, but we had about 2 weeks of 90 degree days with 95% humidity. I spent summer in Richmond, VA last year - what a disaster. Could barely go outside without feeling...

    Kaytee Chinchilla food.

Just so people are aware, all Kaytee small animal foods (minus the pro-health) contain ethoxyquin, quinoline-based antioxidant used as a food preservative and a pesticide. It has been linked to cancer as well.

    cinnamon raisin bread!

Oh that looks good, my weakness is bread. I wish my other half would cook things like that!

Serial Killer confirmed in South Carolina

Wow - that is pretty scary. The last major thing we had here was a couple weeks ago. A 17 year old killed his mother, "violated" the corpse, and stuffed her in a trash can.

    dogs and chinchillas

Our GSD/Rotty is fine with the chins. He pretty much ignores them, but will walk over occasionally and wag his tail, then sit and watch them. When we had our English Setter (who now lives back with her breeder, we had taken her from the shelter) she would have a serious intense stare. They had...

Oxbows Pellets -$- what the *bleep*

Good comparison. For dogs being so popular, most vets know very little about dog nutrition. That doesn't make a vet's opinion on an exotic's food very valuable. I'd much rather get my info from a long-time breeder/rancher. I am glad chin pellets aren't like dog food. You can pay so little for...

Spoof's site has a great section for chin colors. http://sunsetchinchillas.com/Colors.shtml

Oxbows Pellets -$- what the *bleep*

But why would I pay over $50 for a bag of Oxbow if I can pay $15 for a bag of Manna Pro? Affording isn't an issue for most people, but getting the best deal right now is. I don't blame anybody for b*tching about the increasing price of Oxbow when things are like they are.

Oxbows Pellets -$- what the *bleep*

I agree. They don't need to be rewarded for this. However, people that aren't knowledgeable may start buying brands like Kaytee to save some money. Mazuri and Oxbow are the only decent brands Petsmart carries.

    Help! Chin hair issue

Thanks Spoof, that helps. They are on linoleum, and no ceiling fans. I just hope it starts getting less severe soon. The hair is so light, it floats all over. They were in the same spot in winter with just some hair against the wall and the back of the cage on cage day.

    Help! Chin hair issue

No, I've got two boys above two girls. Father (10 years old)/son (1.5) Mother(5)/daughter (1.5). None have ever fought that I can see signs of. I work until 3AM some nights at home and it is business as usual. Of course it is possible but I never see fur slips, just loose hair.
