    Temporarily switching foods?

The only place around my house that carries Mazuri has been out of it for a few days, so I have been just doubling up on hay. They said they would restock it today, but there is still no Mazuri. Is it ok if I feed him a different food for a few more days until they restock the regular food or is...

Help.Chinchilla chewing trim and baby gate?

My chinchilla keeps chewing the wood door and the wood trim of my room where I let him out. He has plenty of wood and toys to chew on, but he persists. He also chews on the plastic baby gate that I use to block him from roing to the rest of the house. Any idea on how to stop this? Is there a...

    Changing where my chinchilla pees?

So I'm not sure where to post this but I guess it has something to do with behavior. My chinchilla pees up on this skinny bridge and his pee drips down and hits another shelf and then it spills over the edge and it lands on the carpet. Obviously i don't want it on the carpet so is there a. A...

    Puffed out fur

My chinnie has these poofed out fur spots, three of them, and I know they do that when they're scared, but he's not scared. Is it like the season to do that or something? Thanks in advance!

    Anti-social?

I leave the dust house in my chinchillas cage, with the blue cloud in it, only 3-4 times a week tops. Any more will dry out their fur. As far as I know, oranges, or any other fruit are bad for them. Stick with un-sugared wheaties, old fashioned oats, and wood.

    Bleeding foot

Thankyou. My chins pads arent like that at all. Like i said the pads are pink and fine, no mooshing or pushing, and he just has that little scab the. Size of a wood sliver you'd get in your finger while wood working. I'm totally changing the subject but I didn't think this deserved another post...

    Bleeding foot

Unfortunately my camera is too blurry to get a good look at the foot so by any chance do you have a picture of the beginning signs of bumblefoot? It doesn't look that bad, however i don't know what i'm looking for. The bottom pads are pink and looking normal and the spot where the cut or dried...

    Bleeding foot

Today i noticed a little bit of dried blood on one of my boy's shelves. His foot is bloody, but it doesn't effect him. He continues to run around and stuff. I'm wondering what i should do. I think its dry skin or a cut, should i wash it out? Thanks.
