I have to say, despite the height issue, I am thrilled with the 143/ 3-level. It gives them soooo much room to run and play, and I enjoy watching them. I can easily get into the top level with a step stool when I need to, like once a week to shake out the liner. They absolutely love it and utilize every inch of it! It gives them so much more room without taking up more floor space. And if I ever have to in case of emergency or attitude issues, I can always divide into three separate (stacked) cages.
I don't have a problem rolling it out on carpet to vacuum behind it - so far, but bigger wheels would probably be nice.
The four new boys are just in the 142 at this point, and I can really see a tremendous play space difference between that and the 143 (with my original 3). They'll get the 143 added this weekend. My only question (to myself) is whether or not to add the stand. I think I like it better without the stand, but the first cage has it on already (what a pain to uninstall it!) and they would look a bit strange with the two cages at different heights.
