What's your favorite chin mutation?

I pick mosaic because I LOVE the wilson whites. They are just the cutest little things! 2nd would have to be extra dark ebony, they're just stunning but I haven't seen one in person and it's hard to find a good picture of them. And obviously I love black velvets (maddie would spray me if I didn't mention them)

THANK YOU to everyone who weighed in on this thread!! It is really interesting to me that so many picked mosaic. It was my gorgeous mosaic girl that first attracted me to chinchillas. Now it's been years and after so much research I truly have a love (or possibly obsession) with many of the mutations. Chinnies are just too stinkin cute!!!!

Stats as of now seem to be:
1st place- mosaic
2nd place- tie between black velvet and extra dark ebony

To those who wish they could pick multiples, sorry I didn't set it up like that. I'm not going to lie, I haven't voted in my own poll because I could pick LOL

Maisy is ebony white but she has a real dark gray spot on the fron tof her head. buttons is a herto beige and lady gwen is standard gry with a it of black velvet and she darker than a stanard gray really is. now maisy has spots here and there all over her fur. her face is light gray. but she is so beautiful ... the best part about buttons is that she is a herto beige and i can tell when thier hot casue her ears are the on;y ones i can see that are red the other two you can't tell... lool lol

So hard to choose! I picked mosaic because of the variety and cuteness. I looove violets, beiges, ebonies, black velvets and tans though. I basically love all the colors except for a small few.

I picked Black Velvet too, but are their smiles more pronounce than the other colors? If so, is there a reason for it? Unsure bc Millie is my first and she's a blk velvet...

I think the brown velvets are gorgeous. I don't see them very often, though. Not sure why.

I love extra dark ebonies, I think they look so gorgeous. However, I love how mosaics can change colors. I totally love how Ninja looks and can't wait to see him mature and see how he'll look. I love how standards can come in different shades, and how violets look super soft. I love how beiges can have freckles on their ears. Black velvets and brown velvets look so neat. Peanut's mom is a brown velvet, I had never seen one in person before, and she looks beautiful. Dark tans are gorgeous too. In all honesty, when I answered this poll I picked extra dark ebony, but now that I have seen a lot of the mutations I really do like them all. Mosaics and TOVs are my faves, maybe cause I'm a little biased hehe.

I don't like any mutation that has red eyes.. freaks me out.

Hard question! I adore Standards, especially dark ones. They're such a beautiful blue grey colour, and I love seeing the differences in the exact pattern of light and dark in their coats. I really love BVs, too, and hope to have one some day. If I breed it will just be standards and (Black and hopefully also Brown) Velvets (and inevitably Beige as well, I suppose. I do like Beiges too, especially as long as they're a nice blue-beige colour).

I do like chins where the TOV markings show up though, it can look so pretty in white chins - I've had Siamese cats my whole life, so am a complete sucker for any animal with a darker mask on the face. I especially like PWs with Beige showing through, whether TOV or not (and if they have a mask I want to take them home).

Again partly because of the dark mask, though he was a lovely chin in many ways, I was really rather taken by the Blue Slate I saw at a recent show, too (guess that would be under 'other', though they're shown in the Standard class). I was interested to learn it was dominant and that it should show up in white chins, be curious to see what that looks like.

Extra dark ebs, something about them is just so beautiful to me. I have never had one but its one of those things that I hope to have some day. Most of mine are rescues so I never really had a choice but I love them anyway lol.

I have a mosaic, extra dark ebony, and sapphire, so it was a hard decision for me, but my extra dark has beautiful fur and is such a chunker.
