Buckie is about 4 years old. I know he doesn't have the best genes. He was a sickly chin when I got him, but he hasn't had any problems in the past three years except for some tooth filing last summer and earlier this month. no signs of root elongation.
He is generally pretty good about resting when he needs to. He naps on and off all day so he'll play for a few minutes real hard and then just relax. He isn't chubby, and every vet I've seen has said he is in good shape. Its rare when he doesn't get at least two hours of play time every day.
That night I did give him a bite of dried kiwi when I put him in his cage before I realized how strange he was acting. And no chemicals or strange smells.
