Chins with GI issues should get critical care and nothing else added, no dyne, no lifeline, no molasses, no pumpkin, no squash etc, just critical care and water.
That said, to the op's question above, if he is eating on his own his normal ration, you see no signs of lethargy, stretching, hunching over, lying on the side, then continue with the meds, and watch him like a hawk, make SURE he is eating and drinking, any hint he is not then resume hand feeding, you could have caught it early and the gas has passed.
