I saw. :) You will be of immense help, especially since your are so diet conscious already. We need someone like you around. :D

Carol and I would like very much to walk for the 60 Mile 3 day Susan G Koman Cancer Cure in honor/memory of my beautiful sister Lisa who died in July. Before she died--and oh do I ever hate deathbed promises--Lisa told me I had to lose weight because someone needed to be around for her children since she would not be. So I promised her then and there that I would. I have lost 46 lbs since Lisa died, but I haven't really done anything special to do it.

Laurie!! You lost 46 pounds? That is EXCELLENT. Congratulations. What a great success.

Laurie and Carol, I would love to do the 3 day walk with you if I may... I just need more info on it.

My grandma is a breast cancer survivor so I have my reasons too.

I will send you the link in a pm with the information on the walk that will be here in Chicago in August.

I start the "Biggest Loser" program at my local gym in January, so I am in! I go to the gym 3x a week for 2 hours. Scott's going with me too. We have 2 personal trainers and have dieticians come in to help us.

I'm very competitive, and a girl I reaaaaally do not like is also going.. so I know I'm going to kick butt! It'll be a bit difficult with working part time, going to Nursing school fulltime, plus fitting the gym in.. But I am determined.

I just joined too. The doctors say I need to lose 40-50lbs. . . I've been trying for 3 years and can't get it off despite dieting and A LOT of exercise. Maybe you guys can give me some ideas that my doctors cant...

Ok, to anyone wanting to join the group, some members expressed concern about thinner people wanting to join that just wanted to lose 5-10 lbs. This group is not for that. It has made a few members uncmfortable with the idea of posting pictures and talking about their daily struggles with thin people. Because of that, we are making it a rule that you have to actually be overweight to join this group. If any of the thin people who wanted to join to help still want to help, you are more than welcome to message either Laurie or I with items and we are more than happy to add them to the BBnG site. I hope no one has their feelings hurt, as this wasn't meant to do that at all. I just know that most of us out there need this support with each other to get through this, and if overweight people needing help don't want to join because of it, that's where the problem lies. I don't want anyone to ever feel uncomfortable there.

I probably should join.. but not sure just yet.. I had a cookie for breakfast and might bring everyone down.

i just joined. i had a drs appointment about a month or so back that wasnt all joys and giggles. since then i've joined a gym. started yoga, pilates, and a few other excerise clases. on top of getting a trainer for the days i feel like being on the main floor. my biggest problem is getting the eating right. like now i have to start eating breakfest and then four-five hours ontop of that. im used to eating maybe twice a day if im lucky. i do feel a difference when i cant get to the gym for few days (work) and those days that i can go whenever.

my goals for the next year is to maintain a healthier life style and my really long term goal is to have a child. i really dont plan on having one till im at least 23 but theres not a better time to start then now.

good luck everyone! I can't join, I'm genetically lucky and have always been thin. But thin doesn't mean fit, and I have told myself it is time to get off my butt and exercise again to improve my overall health. My husband is overweight and I know he would sure love to lose the weight as he is a loud snorer, has sleep apnea, and I worry about the risks with him being overweight. But it is so hard to lose it, and wanting it is not enough. I think a support group is an awesome idea and can help encourage, and motivate people to not give up. Best of luck to you all for a healthier new you!!!
