Was Hoping for a Good Supply...

So, I found this website that makes little wood pieces that would be GREAT for toys:

Problem: The woods that they use are (white) birch, maple, and oak. Birch is on some safe lists, but not on others, and it seems that maple and oak are not on any safe wood lists. I was so excited...

So, what is the general consensus here on birch? There's so much stuff on this site, and you could make some really cool toys, but there's the issue of the wood species.

I have purchased from them before. If you call and ask they can usually tell you what is birch and poplar. Usually the squares, some of the smaller wheels and balls are poplar if I remember right.
