Wags tail like a puppy

My chin knows when it is dinnertime and often stands with her front feet on her bowl in anticipation. The other day, I noticed that she had what looked like a smile on her little furry face and her tail was wagging like a happy puppy. I wish I could have gotten a video. So horribly cute I could hardly stand it.
Has anyone else had a chinchilla wag its tail happily?

I have boys that do it when they are aroused.

My boys will do it sometimes. They tend to get really excited when the treats come out and whoever is last to get a treat sits wagging his tail. Zoid is the best at it, he's an old cranky chin so seeing him wag his tail in excitement, makes me really happy

hmmn... I wondered why it was only my male and not my female that did that. Even though they are in separate rooms he can probably scent when she's in heat?? I thought he was just excited to see me:rofl:

I have a female that swishes her tail back and forth once in a while, but I kind of think she does it when she is not happy.

Never seen a female do it but all of my boys do it when there is a girl in my room in heat.

My girl does it when shes trying to get out of her cage and im trying to keep her in there. But its more of a frustrated grouchy wag definitely not like a puppy

Moche does it when he is yelling at the other boys that are out for play time and he is not.

Yep, my boy did that all the time in his prime. Very cute.

Maybe recheck your chin to see if its a boy???
