No one on this forum, who knew what they were talking about, would EVER condone putting a female in with two males. Ever. I don't care what their age is. If you read that, then you read it wrong.

Zappa - You seriously need to take a step back and stop acting like you know everything about chins. Start learning about them for a while or you are just going to continue screw up.

It takes seconds for a male to impregnate a female. A female can become pregnant as early as 8 weeks. Yes, it's happned before. I am putting this in bold, italicized, underlined text so you cannot possibly miss it, and later when your female turns up pregnant, there will be no way for you claim you didn't know.

You are not going to get papers from a pet store, and the only reason you would need papers is if you were considering breeding. Pet stores get their chins from a wholesaler (vendor). The wholesaler doesn't take papers when he collects the chins. He could care less. He hands the breeder his money then takes all the chins back to his warehouse where he puts them in cages and then divides them up for different contracts. The guy at the pet store has no CLUE where that chin came from, it's age, or anything else. Unless he's one of the very few pet stores who either breed their own or buy from a local breeder, he will never give you anything that isn't made up. For the ones who buy locally, why would he give you a pedigree? Then you could go straight to the breeder and buy your chins rather than from him.

I see a "breader" happening here in the next few months and I'm going to tell you right now, you are going to get shot down hard if you do it with your pet store, nonpedigreed chins. I know all the major forums that support breeders, and none of them are going to condone backyard garbage breeding. The pet only forums will eat you alive.

Get mad if you want, I don't care. This needs to be said. Rescuers everywhere are filled up with the offspring from your type of breading. Nonpedigreed breeding stock, or totally crap animals that have had not been evaluated, put together because someone felt like it. Everybody who puts a male and a female together, whether they admit or not, are secretly hoping she'll get pregnant. There isn't a person on this forum who doesn't realize that. That may make you a crap "breader", it certainly doesn't make you a responsible breeder.

I'm wondering if these people are just trolls. Seriously guys, everything they post there is something wrong, and just enough information to get the forums up in arms.

*DONT FEED THE TROLLS*

One other thing- that girl is beautiful but very small for her age. That's just one more reason why she shouldn't be bred.

Yes, maybe trolls. He/she/it/they were silent and on the forum for 24+ hours after Peggy closed the hiking thread. Now he/she/it/they came back with posts all over a bunch of threads just to get everyboding going again. I'm sure they had every intention and knew that this thread was going to get alot people concerned about the female being with 2 males. I'm positive they are patting themselves on their backs at there end with all of the attention they are getting.

This person/people will lead to the death of their chinchillas. I feel sorry for the chinchillas.

Yep, my thoughts too. Most likely young kids, who are bored with nothing to do since it's winter, but come on and stir up people that care.

Don't feed into it. And if they are "real" people, they obviously don't care and won't do what we suggest anyway--don't waste our breath. Use it where it will work, with the people who actually care about their critters.

Thank you!

I feel so sorry about what these chins are going through. :(

The boys are at Alanna's house. Vera is at my house, in my room.

We tried a few intros, but Kenny is a crazy bird, and he will not leave her alone.. and she hides in this big tube we have. She made these semi loud repetitive yelps from in there the other night. I don't know if I should bring her back right away. The yelps didn't sound negative, but I can't be sure. I tried to reference this one website, and couldn't really tell..

I'm sure that female chin was terrified.
