I'm so happy to hear/see that the healing process is going well. Hopefully she will come around with her eating. I must have missed something earlier posted, but how did she end up with the injury in the first place? Must have been just awful at first, but you're doing a great job of getting her healthy again!

We have no idea what happened. I bought her at the York show-brought her home on the 19th. I noticed she was not eating well so i took her out for an inspection on the 22nd. That is when i saw the huge abscess on her belly. It's been a rough road since then.

We believe the injury occurred at the breeder's home-but being he has 5000 animals we will never know exactly what happened.

Usagi is doing ok. She's holding her own so to speak. She is still short of breath. She is gaining some weight back slowly. She started as an 840 gram female, dropped to 550 grams and is now up to 660 grams. Every week she is gaining. Eating and pooing well.

Her heart is permantly damaged. So at this point she is just living her life out however long it will be.

I would love to take her out and comb her up. She's got quite a few nots...but every time I do it just stresses her waaayyy too much. She's happy just to be left alone. It's kind of funny to see her coat. On top looks normal but when you look at her side-her belly fur comes up higher on one side. This is due to her healing process. Everything has shifted to one side vs midline.

Thanks for asking-I appreciate it.
