So, I feel like I should know this, being into chins for so long, but is there such a thing as a TOV ebony?

I just got in three girls (2 med. eb, 1 ex. dark) maybe two weeks ago, and I didn't really notice this then, but now I swear the lighter ones have some veiling. But then, I've never had eb's before, so, I dunno. The parents were an ex-dark eb and a standard from what I could tell when I saw them...

The pictures actually show the "veiling" as a bit darker than it is. The first pic is the "closest to life" pic for coloration. It's not quite so "black" in real life, but it is definetly noticeably darker than the rest of their fur.

Yes, there is a such thing as TOV ebony. That doesn't look like a TOV eb though. A lot of ebs take that veiling. A TOV eb would have more veiling on the face.

Here is a dark eb I used to have that looked about the same, but was definitely not a TOV eb.

Oh ok, yeah, I see how the veiling looks similar of your chin (very nice looking, btw)... so then, would a TOV eb basically have the same shading as a BV, the way the face is just about completely shaded?

Here's a couple pics of mine. She's 10 months old and the older she gets the contrast between her veiling and the rest of her body is getting more pronounced. Yours is a cutie for sure, but I don't think she's a TOV

Ebony veiling fools a lot of people but they have the same range as standards - light to very dark that goes down the sides.

Nowadays yes; the difference between a Tov and a dark standard is fur texture, you'll notice that none of the Tov ebonies posted are shiny, yet Tiffany's ebony is, and likely your ladies are too. Not all BV's are so high quality as to have the mask coming down over the cheeks but I haven't seen a really crappy one in a while to give you a picture to compare to. The quality has been going up in leaps and bounds with the internet connecting everyone. :))
